[. . . ] · With Sharpness, Saturation and Contrast, pictures are taken in order standard, low and high. 68 Adjusting the Size, Quality Level, Brightness, and Color Tone Other Settings Sharpness, Saturation and Contrast are selected when the respective button is touched in step 4. When Auto Bracket for sharpness, saturation or contrast is set, the shutter opens and closes one time to take one picture, and then the camera automatically creates the different image data according to the setting. This means that three images are created with different qualities when one picture is shot. Memo · You cannot use W (Auto-Tracking AF) when the shooting mode is set to C (Movie). · When Capture mode is set to \ (Sport), E (Pet) or Q (Kids), [Focusing Area] is set to W (Auto-Tracking AF), but you can change the setting. 74 Focusing Limiting the Focus Range (Focus Limiter) O On Focuses on a subject within the range of approximately 40 cm (16 in. ) to infinity. AF Light P Off 1 2 Touch [Focus Limiter] on the AF Setting screen. The setting changes to FL O (On) or P (Off). Touch three times. · The camera returns to Capture mode. · Press the Q button to return to Playback mode. 3 Taking Pictures Memo When Capture mode is set to < (Flower), E (Pet), Q (Kids), D (Food) or B (Text), [Focus limiter] is set to Off, but you can change the setting. Using the Auxiliary AF Light O P On Off When the autofocus does not work properly because the subject is in a dark location, the subject is illuminated with the auxiliary AF light (orange light) to make it easier to focus on the subject. The auxiliary AF light is not activated even when the subject is too dark. AF Setting Focusing Area FL Focus Limiter Aux. AF Light 1 2 Touch [Aux. AF Light] on the AF Setting screen. The setting changes to O (On) or P (Off). Touch three times. · The camera returns to Capture mode. · Press the Q button to return to Playback mode. 75 Focusing Caution The auxiliary AF light of this camera conforms to the safety standard (IEC60825-1) for Class 1 LED products. However, do not look into the emitter from a very short distance as it may make you dizzy. Memo The auxiliary AF light is not activated when the shooting mode is set to C (Movie), or the focus mode is set to 3 (Pan Focus), s (Infinity), or \ (Manual Focus). 3 Taking Pictures Setting the Sensitivity You can select the sensitivity to suit the brightness of the surroundings. However the shutter speed will be slower in low light conditions, so that camera shake could cause blurred images.
