Thank you for buying the Pentax Optio S4 Digital Camera. Please read this manual before using the camera in order to get the most out of all the features and functions. Keep this manual safe, as it can be a valuable tool in helping you to understand all the camera's capabilities. Please take care, as there are even cases where limitations are placed on taking pictures even for personal enjoyment during demonstrations, industrial enterprise or as items for display. [. . . ] H I J M Landscape Flower Portrait Self-Portrait 1 2 3 4 5 6 Press the four-way controller (3) in Capture Mode. The virtual mode dial appears. Use the four-way controller (45) to display the Picture mode (H) at the top of the dial. The default setting is (H). The Picture mode dial appears. Press the four-way controller (3) to select the desired mode. Use the four-way controller (45) to select the icon for the desired picture mode at the top of the dial. The picture is taken. OK Ok Press the shutter release button. OK Ok In Picture mode, the EV compensation, saturation, contrast, sharpness and white balance are automatically set to their default settings. You can change the settings. 4 1, 2 3 Taking Pictures of Dark Scenes (Night-Scene Mode) You can choose settings appropriate for taking pictures of dark scenes, such as nightscapes. 1 2 3 4 Press the four-way controller (3) in Capture mode.
