Do not use an adapter plug with devices fitted with a protec tive earth. D) Do not use the mains lead for any purpose for which it was not intended, e. [. . . ] J Place the soldering pencil in the multifunctional holder during pauses in your work. For this reason you should use the third hand to hold small workpieces. J Avoid placing the hot soldering tip in contact with the plastic parts of the multifunctional holder. J If a dangerous situation arises, pull the mains plug immediately out of the mains socket. J When working with the device for long periods do not allow the fumes from soldering to build up. Otherwise your hands may transfer any adhering traces of lead via food or cigarettes into your body. Careful handling and use of electrical power tools A) When not in use always ensure that electrical power tools are kept out of reach of children. Do not let any one use the device if he or she is not familiar with it or has not read the instructions and advice. Electrical power tools are dangerous when they are used by inexperienced people. Check for broken parts or parts that are damaged to the extent they detrimentally affect the functioning of the device. Many accidents have their origins in poorly maintained electrical tools. Safety advice / Before first use Use of attachments or accessories other than those recommended here could lead to you suffering an injury. Insert a soldering tip 2 into the soldering pencil 1 to a depth of half of its shaft length. The mains voltage must correspond with that shown on the sander rating plate. Switching off: j Pull the plug out of the mains socket to switch off the device. The clips 5 on the third hand 6 can become hot while you are soldering the workpiece. The hot soldering tip 2 must never be placed in contact with a dry solder sponge 8 , otherwise the solder sponge may be damaged. The design of the soldering pencil makes it especially suitable for use where access is difficult or for fine soldering work. After cleaning the tip 2 it must be "tinned" (coated with solder). Continue to feed further solder until the whole joint has a covering of solder. [. . . ] This warranty applies only to the initial purchaser and is nontransferable. The warranty covers only material or manufacturing faults, not normal wear or damage to fragile parts such as switches or rechargeable batteries. In accordance with European Directive 2002 / 96 / EC (covering waste electrical and electronic equipment) and its transposition into national legislation, worn out electrical devices must be collected separately and taken for environmentally compatible recycling.
