Children must be watched to make sure that they do not play with the appliance. - If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its authorised technical service centre or by a qualified technician in order to avoid hazards. - The correct operating temperature will have been reached when the red light extinguishes. - To obtain well-toasted sandwiches, we recommend lightly smearing the outer surface of the bread with butter, that is, the filling will be placed between the sides without butter. If you decide not to do this, you may find that it is necessary to grease the toasting plates with margarine, butter or oil after toasting a certain number of sandwiches. - Place the sandwiches in the sandwich toaster and close the top gently but firmly until it clicks into position. In most cases, the sandwich will be cut in half by the separator or will need gentle pressing by a knife to separate the halves. Sandwiches with "hard" fillings such as wholemeal bread or very thick sandwiches may need to be cut outside of the toaster. - Although the plates are coated with a non-stick material, some fillings may melt, causing the sandwich to stick to the plates. - Never use a sharp object such as a knife as this may damage the non-stick coating.
