The blades are sharp, which is why extreme caution should be exercised when handling. when using hot liquids in the blender , remove the centre part of the measuring cap. Keep hands, fingers and hair well away from the opening in the lid to avoid injury. [. . . ] To remove the jug, simply separate from the motor base by lifting upwards. You should not have to rotate the jug in order to remove from the base. note: It is advisable to add water gradually when blending solid food. It is not necessary to add water to blend foods with high water content, for example fruits. USEFUL TIPS For the best results when blending solid ingredients, place small portions in the jug instead of putting a large quantity all at once If you are blending solid ingredients, cut them first into small portions (2-3cm). When blending solid ingredients, start by adding a small quantity of liquid. Always hold down the blender lid with your hand while the appliance is operating. To blend solid ingredients or very thick liquids we recommend you use the "Turbo" setting and add a little liquid to aid blending, thereby preventing the blades from sticking with food. ASSEMBLY AND USE Important: the blender jug and the blades will suffer from wear and tear with normal use of the appliance. If the blender appears damaged, do not use; contact an authorised service agent to get replacement blades. Place the base on a clean and dry surface to prevent from moving when the motor starts operating. Place the ingredients in the jug and hold the lid down with your hand. Before removing the jug, always switch off the blender and wait until the blades have stopped rotating. To remove the jug once the ingredients have been blended, lift directly up from the base. If the jug cannot be removed easily, gently rock sideways without rotating it. Never fix the jug to the blender unit when the motor base is switched on. If the appliance stops blending or if the ingredients stick to the sides of the jug, switch off the blender, remove the lid and use a rubber spatula to move the mixture towards the blades. Take off the lid and add a capful of washing liquid by using a few drops of dishwasher detergent mixed with a cup of cold water. Wash and rinse the inside of the jug and the lid in order remove as much leftover food or drink as possible. Add more washing liquid and put the lid on to the jug; fix the jug on to the motor base and operate at maximum speed for two minutes and wait for 1 minute.
