Press DIMMER. Each press of the button changes the brightness as follows: The display becomes dimmer. The display resumes the original brightness.
To restore the sound, press MUTING again.
Tip
If you turn off the unit during muting, and turn it on again, the sound will be restored.

Using the Timer Functions
This manual uses the 24-hour display to describe how to set the clock. The clock display may also be switched to a AM/PM display.
Caution
· In the event of a power outage, or the power cord being removed from the socket, the clock display will disappear. · When using the clock functions, make sure that the power cord is connected to a proper power supply.

Setting the current date and time

Press TIMER repeatedly until "CLOCK" appears in the display on the unit, then press ENTER.

Start the clock.
Match the date, time etc. The display switches back to the function.

I Displaying the current time
Press CLOCK on the remote controller. When the power on, press CLOCK on the remote control to display current date and time. Press CLOCK again to return to the previous display.

Caution
· You cannot change the settings to the current time or turn off time during playback timer or recording timer operation.

Types of timers
SLEEP: Puts the system into standby mode at the preset time. The sleep timer is activated by the SLEEP button.
Using the Sleep Timer
SLEEP
(Playback) ONCE: Activates only once after setting. "SLEEP 90min" appears in the multipurpose display for about 5 seconds, which means the unit will turn off and enter standby mode in 90 minutes. Also the SLEEP indicator is lit in the display while the sleep timer is On.
Each press of the SLEEP button makes the remaining time shorter by 10 minutes. Press the Cursor 5/ buttons to adjust the time in 1 minute intervals.
Checking the remaining time
Press SLEEP while the Sleep Timer is On. If you press SLEEP while the remaining time is displayed, the remaining time is reduced by 10 minutes.
I About the timer display
When pressing TIMER repeatedly to display the various times, a lit TIMER indicator means that the time is set.

Canceling the Sleep Timer
Press SLEEP repeatedly until the SLEEP indicator goes off.

Presetting the playback timer

Repeatedly press TIMER to select the desired timer type.

Press (5/) to select the stop playback time.
When the desired time is displayed, press ENTER.

Press ENTER to select either "WEEKDAY, " "WEEKEND, " "ONCE. "
Hint
The TIMER indicator at the top of the display lights up when the respective timer is set.
When radio timer playback is selected, use the cursor buttons to display the desired station, then press ENTER. Skip to step 6 if you selected ONCE timer.

Setting the day.
The characters displayed represent the current day setting.

· If you select a component, which is not connected to this unit, the timer will activate, and the unit will turn on, and the function will change at the timer time, but nothing will happen.
To change the day. Press (2/3) so that the desired day blinks.

Press (5/) to select the start playback time.
When the desired time is displayed, press ENTER.
Press (5/) to select/deselect the day. Press ENTER to confirm the setting.

Tip
· When set to the desired playback start time (ON) is set, playback is automatically set to stop (OFF) in an hour. · When using the 24 hour display, you can also use the number buttons.
The TIMER indicator lights up.

STANDBY
Set the power to Standby.
Press STANDBY to put the system into standby mode.
Caution
Even if the playback timer is set, the timer will not operate unless the power is set to the standby mode. Make sure the system is in standby mode.

Using the Timer Functions
Be sure to preset FM and AM stations beforehand (page 37).
Caution
· If the current time is not set, you cannot preset the playback timer make sure that the current time is set. When the recording is finished, the timer is deactivated.

Tuner
The sound is distorted or sound volume decreases. Sound is excessively distorted.
· The radio wave is distorted. (The waves transmitted from the transmission center (direct waves) and the waved reflected by buildings or mountains (diffraction waves) interfere with each other causing multi pass distortion. ) · The power cord is unplugged, or the main power is switched off, for a long time.
