If this happens, replace the battery in the meter as soon as possible. Follow this procedure when you would like to transfer data to the Game Card: 1. The battery should last approximately 6 months under these conditions: · Walking 10, 000 steps per day · NOTE: For best communication, avoid the following, which can interfere with infrared communication: · Sunlight or other strong light near by. Other sources of heat, light, or strong electromagnetic energy 10 Perchlorate Material special handling may apply. Leakage of battery fluid can cause personal injury as well as damage to your accessory. If battery leakage occurs, thoroughly wash the affected skin and clothes. [. . . ] If it doesn't flash, remove the battery cover and the battery and check to see if anything is blocking the battery terminals. It may not accurately measure steps if it is horizontal, attached loosely, you are walking unevenly, such as in a crowd, or if it is very humid. If you can't transfer information from the meter to the Game Card, make sure the distance is correct between the meter and the Game Card and they are oriented correctly (see page 10).
