" Insert the metal tabs on the right side into their slots. Squeeze the bezel and the chassis together along the left side so the tabs snap into their slots. Replace and tighten the bezel retaining screw. 4-6 Taking Your System Apart Add-in Board Considerations The next few procedures tell how to remove and install slot covers and add-in boards. As an aid to installing boards in your system, this section describes the arrangement and numbering conventions for the slot connectors on the system board. Figure 4-3 shows the numbering convention for the connectors on the system board and for the slot openings on the back panel. Figure 4-3, A shows the slot openings on the system back panel, and Figure 4-3, B the connectors on the system board. The numbers are for reference only and are not actually printed on the system board or the back panel. There are two slot connectors numbered 3 in Figure 4-3 because slot opening 3 in the back panel can hold either a PCI or an ISA board (but not both at the same time). Due to the physical arrangement of the PCI and ISA slot connectors, slot opening 7 in the back panel is never used. ISA-compatible add-in boards can be installed in any of the system board ISA slots. PCI-compatible add-in boards can be installed in any of the PCI slots. There are no board-length limitations; you can install full length addin boards in any slot. !v CAUTION Do not overload the system board by installing add-in boards that draw excessive current. The system is designed to provide 2 A (average) of +5 V power for each board in the system. The total +5 V current draw for add-in boards in a fully-loaded system (all six add-in board slots filled) must not exceed 12 A. Add-in boards can be extremely sensitive to ESD and always require careful handling. [. . . ] Press Enter.
