INSTALLATION AND CONNECTIONS Connecting Your PC or Macintosh Computer NOTE: When using with a notebook PC, be sure to connect between the projector and the notebook PC before turning on the power to the notebook PC. In most cases signal cannot be output from RGB output unless the notebook PC is turned on after connecting with the projector. * If the screen goes blank while using your remote control, it may be the result of the computer's screen-saver or power management software. It is recommended that you use a commercially available distribution amplifier if connecting a signal cable longer than the supplied one. Audio cable (not supplied) NOTE: For older Macintosh, use a commercially available pin adapter (not supplied) to connect to your Mac's video port. Use the supplied RGB/VGA signal cable to connect your PC or Macintosh to the projector. If the projector goes blank after a period of inactivity, it may be caused by a screen saver installed on the computer you've connected to the projector. E-18 2. INSTALLATION AND CONNECTIONS To connect SCART output Before connections, the supplied exclusive SCART adapter (VIDEO to SCART with audio L/R) and a commercially available SCART cable are required. Use the SCART adapter to connect the Video input of the projector and a SCART output of your video equipment. Press the SOURCE button on the projector cabinet or VIDEO button on the remote control to select "Video" input. E-19 2. INSTALLATION AND CONNECTIONS Connecting the Supplied Power Cable Connect the supplied power cable to the projector. First connect the supplied power cable's two-pin plug to the AC IN of the projector, and then connect the other plug of the supplied power cable in the wall outlet. CO NTRO L CAUTION Do not unplug the power cable from the wall outlet under any one of the following circumstances. Doing so can cause damage to the projector: * While the projector is turned on. PROJECTING AN IMAGE (BASIC OPERATION) This section describes how to turn on the projector and to project a picture onto the screen. Turning on the Projector NOTE: · The projector has two power switches: a main power switch and an ON/STAND BY button. · When plugging in or unplugging the supplied power cable, make sure that the main power switch is pushed to the off (O) position. Failure to do so may cause damage to the projector. To turn on the main power to the projector, press the Main Power switch to the on ( I ) position. The POWER indicator will light orange. Only after you press the ON/STAND BY button on the projector cabinet or POWER ON button on the remote control for a minimum of 2 seconds will the power indicator turn to green and the projector become ready to use.
