(Refer to "Map in Destination search mode" on page 60) 7. 2. 2 Dynamic button bar The bar with the buttons is hidden on the map in Standard mode and Navigation mode. The screen looks tidier and more clearly arranged. If your navigation device is a NAVIGON 20 EASY: Tap on any point on the map. If your navigation device is a NAVIGON 20 PLUS: Proximity sensor active: Place your hand near the screen. Tap on any point on the map. Proximity sensor inactive: For more information on the proximity sensor refer to "Motion Sensor", page 49. The dynamic button bar appears at the bottom edge of the screen instead of the street names. If navigation is in progress, the POI on Your Route bar will appear at the top edge. (Refer to "Map in Destination search mode" on page 60) 7. 3 Motion Sensor This chapter is relevant for you only if your navigation device is a NAVIGON 20 PLUS. The built-in proximity sensor enables easier and more comfortable operation of the navigation device: The button bar displays only when you place your hand near the navigation device. When you take your hand away, the bar will disappear again automatically after a few seconds. Note: The proximity sensor is positioned on the right-hand side of the navigation device. Move your hand near to the screen from the right for a reliable response from the sensor. Working with the map - 49 - User's manual NAVIGON 20 EASY | 20 PLUS 7. 3. 1 Configuring the proximity sensor You can configure the response characteristic of the proximity sensor. In the NAVIGATION window tap on Options > Settings > General > Motion Sensor. Select the responsivity level with which you want the proximity sensor to respond to movements (Low Responsivity, Mid Responsivity, High Responsivity) Select Do Not Use if you do not want to use the proximity sensor. 7. 4 Map in Standard mode The map is always in Standard mode when you are not navigating, have not calculated a route and are not searching for a destination on the map. Under the following circumstances the map switches automatically to Standard mode: You begin a trip while the NAVIGATION window is open. In the NAVIGATION window tap on Show Map. To open the map: Note: If GPS reception is not good enough to establish your location, the map will be opened in Destination search mode. The following features are typical for this view: Indicated in the middle of the lower third is your current position (orange arrow). The map view follows your movements so that your position is always visible on the screen.
