DESCRIPTION AND USE The MULTICOAT METAL LATHE WATERPROOF SYSTEM is a multi-layer protective coating designed for larger decks. The system applies MULTI-BASE, a resin modified cementitious base coat embedded with 2. 5 galvanized wire lathe. [. . . ] A second skim coat must be applied after the first coat has dried to completely cover any metal lathe showing through. MULASTICOAT® is then applied over entire surface in two (2) thin coats with roller, using firm pressure. First coat is allowed to dry to the touch, usually 1-2 hours depending on ambient temperature. Allow the MULASTICOAT® to fully dry before proceeding with KRETE KOTE/TOPCOAT 2000 surfacing. DO NOT ALLOW MULASTICOAT® TO BE EXPOSED DIRECTLY TO THE SUN FOR MORE THAN 3 DAYS. bags and field mixed with potable (clean) water in the approximate amount of 1¾-2 gallons per bag. Mix vigorously to disperse all lumps and to thoroughly wet all particles. Adjust to desired consistency by addition of dry material or small amount of water. For best results let KRETE KOTE or TOP COAT stand in the bucket for 3-5 minutes, then add a small amount of water and rebreak material. Mixed KRETE KOTE and TOP COAT 2000 are applied by roller, trowel, or squeegee in one coat plus texture coat, or two or more coats plus texture coat, depending on surface conditions.
