Mains operation Plug the mains power cord into the AC socket and then into any normal household mains outlet. Radio operation Set FUNCTION 3 To stop playback, press STOP/EJECT once. Press PAUSE again to resume playing. switch (2) to the radio position. Rewind To rewind the tape press REWIND when the tape is stopped, the button will stay down and the tape will completely rewind. All pre-recorded cassettes are protected in this way to prevent accidental erasure of the commercial recording. Protected cassettes will prevent the record button from being operated. Check that a cassette has been loaded and that the tab has not been removed. Recording on a cassette from which the tabs have been removed can be done by covering the tab openings with a piece of adhesive tape. Types of cassette Use only good quality cassettes (IEC TYPE 1) for making recordings. The boom box may be used to replay other types of cassette but is unable to make proper recordings on these more specialized tapes. The LCD indicator shows the tracks of a disc which are still to be played. Total numbers of tracks on the disc are shown when in stop mode. Program play 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 Program up to 20 tracks. Press MEMORY, once more and all the programmed track numbers will be shown one by one. Press CD PLAY/PAUSE, playback will start from the first programmed track. You can press CD SKIP FORWARD/BACKWARD to select the track number in memory. In stop mode, press STOP to cancel the program play. Playing the entire disc 1 Press CD PLAY/PAUSE and playback starts with the first track. 4 To stop playback, press CD STOP. Selecting a different track during play 1 Press CD SKIP FORWARD/BACKWARD continuously until the desired track number appears in the display. (Press CD PLAY/PAUSE to start playback in stop mode). Starting again with the track that is currently playing 1 Press CD SKIP BACKWARD once. 2 The playback will start again from the beginning of the track. Stopping play 1 Press CD STOP. The total number of tracks which can be played now show in the display. 2 Open the CD door on the unit to remove the CD. Repeat play When playing, press REPEAT once and `REP' will flash on the display for playing the same track only. If you want to repeat all tracks, press the REPEAT button again and `REP.
