Then connect the two wires from the MW aerial to the external MW antenna terminals (in the same way the speakers wires are connected). Alarm clock/timer function How to preset the timer function (during operation) With the unit working, press and hold CLK. ADJ to toggle between the following modes: Timer on Timer on hour Timer on minute Timer on mode (power on with CD playback or tuned in radio station) Timer on volume Timer off Timer off hour Timer off minute. Adjust the timer on/off hour & minute by means of SKIP/SEARCH buttons. Choose timer on mode between CD/Tuner by means of SKIP/SEARCH buttons. [. . . ] Repeat button Press this button to select between repeat one and repeat all modes in CD stop or play mode; once for repeat one track mode, twice for repeat all the CD and three times to exit. Random button Press this button to enter random play mode in CD stop or CD play mode; press this button again to exit this mode. Intro button The intro function will play 10 seconds from the beginning of every track. Press this button to enter intro play mode in CD stop or CD play mode; press this button again to exit this mode. Remain button Press this button to display the remaining playing time of the whole disc. Program button To program tracks: 1 Press MEMORY in CD stop mode; 2 Press SKIP/SEARCH or numeric buttons to select the track; 3 Press MEMORY again to save and repeat step to increase the program. RDS operation of digital tuner When the radio stops at a radio station which supports RDS, the LCD shows the frequency, radio name, program type and radio text step-by-step. The display toggles as follows: Station name Frequency Program type Radio text back to Station name. If you want to enjoy a particular type of program, press the PTY SEL button. Cassette recording operation Record from CD 1 Play a disc while observing the play steps described elsewhere. 3 Press both RECORD and PLAY buttons to record when the CD arrives at the point where you would like to begin your recording. 4 Press STOP/EJECT button to cease recording when the CD arrives at the point where you would like to stop your recording. 5 When the tape reaches the end, the RECORD and PLAY buttons eject up and subsequently the recording will be suspended. Other functions EQ button Press EQ to toggle the EQ effect of the system; the EQ effect will change between: Flat, Rock, Classic, Pop, Jazz. X-Bass button Press this button to turn on or off the bass boost function. Vol+/-buttons Press these buttons to increase or decrease the volume level. In mute on mode, the sound is cut off. Record from radio 1 Play the radio while observing the play steps described elsewhere. 3 Press both RECORD and PLAY buttons to record when the broadcasting arrives at the point where you would like to begin your recording. 4 Press STOP/EJECT button to cease recording when the broadcasting arrives at the point where you would like to stop your recording. 5 When the tape reaches the end, the RECORD and PLAY buttons eject up and subsequently the recording will be suspended. Cassette operation Open the cassette key cover. Stop/eject button Press this button to stop cassette playback and again to eject the cassette door. Record from auxiliary 1 Connect the unit to an auxilary amplifier. 3 Press both RECORD and PLAY buttons to record when the amplifier arrives at the point where you would like to begin your recording. 4 Press STOP/EJECT button to cease recording when the amplifier arrives at the point where you would like to stop your recording. 5 When the tape reaches the end, the RECORD and PLAY buttons eject up and subsequently the recording will be suspended. F. Fwd button Press this button to advance rapidly during cassette playback or stop mode. Rew button Press this button to go backward rapidly during cassette playback or stop mode. Care of cassette mechanism Gently clean the tape head and pinch wheel / capstan assemblies after every 10 hours of use. The erase head and record/play head and the surface of the pinch roller are delicate and must not be touched with metal objects such as screwdrivers. You may find it easier to clean the assembly by pressing PLAY to bring head and pinch roller into view. Damage to the pinch wheel can occur if the unit is left in play mode with the power switch off.
