C. If the socket outlets in your home are not suitable for the plug supplied with this appliance the plug should be removed and the appropriate one fitted. IMPORTANT : THE PLUG REMOVED FROM THE MAINS LEAD, IF SEVERED, MUST BE DESTROYED AS A PLUG WITH A BARED FLEXIBLE CORD IS HAZARDOUS IF ENGAGED INTO A LIVE SOCKET OUTLET. [. . . ] The display will be extinguished to conserve battery life but the memory will retain details of the clock time and alarm settings. If the optional battery is not installed in case of the AC power failure the display will blink to indicate the power was interrupted. If the unit is not to be used for a prolonged period, remove the battery to avoid battery leakage. In the interests of environmental safety : dispose of batteries safely. P. 3 P. 4 Alarm operation 1 Press and hold the ALARM button and simultaneously press the HOUR or MINUTE button to set the display to the desired alarm time. The ALARM ON indicator will appear on the clock display. To stop the alarm tone (either set to radio or buzzer) The alarm is programmed to run for 2 hours. To switch the alarm setting off permanently, slide the FUNCTION SELECTOR switch to the `Off' position. 2 Wake up to the radio alarm 1 2 3 4 5 Switch the FUNCTION SELECTOR switch to the `ON' position to tune to the desired station. Set the BAND SELECTOR switch to select either FM or MW wavebands as desired. The alarm will automatically turn off after 2 hours. Snooze function The alarm can be interrupted for a 9 minute period. 1 Press the SNOOZE button, after 9 minutes the radio or alarm buzzer will sound again. To set the sleep function Your clock radio is equipped with a sleep function that will turn the radio on and switch it off automatically after a set period of time from between 59 minutes to 1 minute. Pressing the hour button will extend the sleep time to 1 hour 59 minutes. 1 Press the SLEEP button the clock display will show 0:59 sleep time at the same time the radio will come on and stay on for 59 minutes. Press and hold the SLEEP button whilst pressing the MINUTE button or HOUR button the sleep time shown on the clock display will start descending. Release all buttons when the desired sleep time is shown on the clock display. After the set sleep time has elapsed, the radio will automatically switch off. To switch off before the set sleep time has elapsed press the SNOOZE button. Ensure the station you select will be transmitting at the preset alarm time.
