[. . . ] Pull the hose firmly from the hose inlet duct. Fitting the telescopic tube and accessories Attach the telescopic tube Ï to the handle end Á of the hose. Extend to the required length by pressing down the slider release and pulling out the tube. Attach the floor nozzle Ê to the telescopic tube and set the floor nozzle lever to the appropriate position. Suction control on the handle The suction power can be adjusted using the fingertip control on the handle C. Closed: Open: full suction low suction C 2-position wheeled floor nozzle Ê The brushes should be retracted for use on carpets and extended for use on hard floors, by adjusting the lever on top of the floor nozzle. Using the stair and hair tool (certain models only) Attach the stair and hair tool Û to the hose handle Á B. This tool Û is suitable for cleaning the stairs, and when the additional attachment is added, it is ideal for picking up human and pet hair. Turbo nozzle (certain models only) Ú This nozzle is suitable for cleaning and rejuvenating cut pile carpets and is ideal for picking up stubborn dirt and pet hairs. WARNING: When using the cable rewind, always hold the plug as the cable will rewind quickly. 6 Raise the filter assembly Ì handle then lift out the filter assembly from the dust canister F. Place dust canister safely to one side. F 7 8 EMPTYING THE DUST CANISTER WARNING: Never operate the cleaner without the dust canister filter Ì or motor protection filter Ò fitted. Remove the dust canister from the cleaner by pushing the release latch / D. 3 1 Cleaning the pleated filter You should clean the pleated filter each time the product is emptied. Use the small brush provided (located on filter assembly) to G remove any fluff from the outside of the mesh filter G. Rotate the mesh filter Ô clockwise to release the mesh filter and pleated filter Ó assembly from the filter holder H. Lift out and clean the pleated filter Ó, then empty out the dust from the mesh filter Ô into the bin. Re-assemble the filter assembly by placing the pleated filter inside the mesh filter, then place the filter holder on top in the correct position. Rotate the mesh filter assembly anti-clockwise to lock the assembly together I. Make sure the filter assembly is placed level and that the filter holder seal is seated neatly. 2 H D 4 5 I 4 5 Take the dust canister to the bin. Rotate the pleated filter inside the mesh filter to shake loose the dust E. 6 E Re-attach the dust canister to the cleaner by hooking the bottom of the dust canister in first, then close the canister until it clicks and the canister release J catch / is fully down and secured J. If there is resistance when you re-fit the canister onto the cleaner, remove and carefully reseat the filter assembly back into the canister, ensuring the filter assembly seal is located fully and neatly. 5 73206 rev2 11/6/08 09:53 Page 6 K Washing the pleated filter For total cleaning of the pleated filter, it should be washed with warm water with no detergents. IMPORTANT: The filter must be completely dry before re-fitting. Exhaust filter Remove the exhaust filter grille by pulling the locking tab towards you L.
