IMPORTANT: Allow hot liquids to cool before adding to blender, always ensure the lid is fitted correctly. [. . . ] 1 2 OPERATING THE BLENDER A 1 2 3 4 3 4 5 6 USING THE BLENDER Use your blender for soups, sauces, drinks, pates, mayonnaise, dressings etc. Your blender can also be used for crushing ice for cocktails, desserts etc. 7 Ensure the blender base unit is unplugged from the mains. B You are able to place the jug in 6 different positions for ease of use. Place the measuring cap into position by pressing down and C turning clockwise, remove by doing it in reverse. Plug in the blender and turn the control switch to either pulse or speed 1 to speed 4 depending on the desired consistency. Never operate the blender with 3 more than 1 litre (1 /4 pints) of liquid or when empty. Measuring cap The measuring cap can be used to measure small quantities of liquid. Then proceed with your blending. OPERATING CONTROLS The blender control switch has the following settings. A The speed can be adjusted whilst the blender is in use. Crushing ice 1 Follow the procedure for blending points 1-6, replacing food with ice cubes to be crushed. Plug in the blender and turn the control switch to pulse position and hold for several seconds D. Note: The maximum capacity for ice crushing at any one time is 500ml. Using the pulse setting allows greater control over the texture of the food produced. Crushing ice Ice 500ml max pulse 10-20 secs Do not process for longer than recommended time. * Do not blend hot liquids, allow to cool first. HINTS AND TIPS Use your blender for soups, sauces, drinks, pates, mayonnaise, dressing etc. · Don't put dry ingredients into the blender before switching on. If necessary, cut them into pieces, remove the filler cap, then, with the machine running drop the pieces through one by one. Never run the blender with dry ingredients for longer than 15 seconds. · When making mayonnaise, put all the ingredients, except oil, into the blender. Then with the machine running, pour the oil slowly into the blender through the filler cap hole. IMPORTANT: To ensure the long life of your blender never run it for longer than 60 seconds and allow to cool for 5 minutes. · · Don't use the blender jug as a storage container. Never blend more than 1 litre (13/4 pints)-less for frothy liquids such as milk shakes. CLEANING AND STORAGE Before cleaning and maintenance, switch the appliance off and unplug it.
