Attach the hair tool ^ to the stair tool for fantastic pet hair pick-up F. Allergy sufferers When emptying any vacuum cleaner, it is difficult to avoid exposure to dust. To minimise this risk, please ensure that you encase the dust canister in a large bag to empty it. Remove the dust canister and close the bag as tightly and quickly as possible and dispose of this immediately. It is advisable to wear disposable gloves and a face mask while emptying the cleaner. If at all possible, ask a non allergy sufferer to empty the dust canister when required. G fi F ^ FILTERS Cleaning i To maintain suction, the pleated filter must be cleaned using the cleaning dial each time the dust canister is emptied. To clean, turn the filter cleaning dial fi clockwise several times G before emptying. H > Ë Pleated filter In addition to cleaning the pleated filter with the cleaning dial each time the dust canister is emptied, it is recommended to regularly remove and wash (or thoroughly brush off) the pleated filter. To thoroughly clean the filter, it can be washed in warm water (no detergent). See `Cleaning the dust canister filter assembly' section for a description of how to access the pleated filter. DUST CANISTER Emptying 1 Every time the dust canister is emptied, rotate the filter cleaning dial fi several times clockwise before emptying G (this will agitate the fine dust between the filter pleats and restore the air flow). Remove the dust canister from the product by pressing the canister release button H >. Turn the lid quarter-of-a-turn anti-clockwise to unlock, lift off the lid with the pleated filter I. Re-fit the dust canister and push back into position. I 2 3 4 5 5 73380 rev4 15/2/08 09:23 Page 6 Cleaning the dust canister filter assembly 1 Operate the filter cleaning dial fi several times and empty the dust canister over a bin. To access the filter assembly rotate the dust canister lid anti clockwise and remove from the dust canister J. Turn the central mesh filter ¯ clockwise to remove and clean as required K. Detach the pleated filter ~ from the dust canister lid by a firm pull/twist action L. Both the mesh and pleated filters may be washed in warm water (no detergent). Re-locate the pleated filter back into position on the dust canister lid by aligning the tabs on the dust canister lid L with the cut away sections on the pleated filter before pushing into place. 1 2 Motor protection filter The motor protection filter is located underneath the dust canister M. Replace the filter. J 2 3 4 3 K Exhaust filter The allergy exhaust filter should be replaced every 6 months to maintain the high performance filtration.
