To protect against fire, electric shock and personal injury, do not immerse cord, plug or cleaner in water or other liquid. This appliance is intended for domestic use and for the designated purpose only. [. . . ] 3 Add the required accessory to the extension tubes or directly to the tube connector Ë when using the hose and tools. IMPORTANT: Turning the cleaner sideways helps prevent the cleaner being pulled along by the stretch hose. IMPORTANT: Remove the hose connector before returning to floor cleaning with the main nozzle. Push the flap down to disengage the latch before pulling out the connector. Using on carpets 1 2 Place the cleaner in it's upright position. Release the mains cable by turning the quick release cleat  half-a-turn and extend the cable fully. Step on the upright release pedal · to release the handle to the desired position. Note: The beater bar will automatically switch off when the cleaner is parked upright. FILTERS Using the filter cleaning lever at every emptying will help maintain good suction. However, for a thorough clean, the dust canister and dust canister filters may be disassembled and washed. F 4 5 Allergy sufferers G When emptying any vacuum cleaner, it is difficult to avoid exposure to dust. To minimise this risk, please ensure that you encase the dust canister in a large bag to empty it. Remove the dust canister and close the bag as tightly and quickly as possible and dispose of this immediately. It is advisable to wear disposable gloves and a face mask while emptying the cleaner. If at all possible, ask a non allergy sufferer to empty the dust canister when required. I , H Û 2 3 4 Pull out the exhaust filter , , and dispose of. To access the filter assembly, rotate the dust canister lid Ù anti-clockwise and remove from the dust canister J. 4 Detach the pleated circular filter Ò from the canister lid Ù by a firm pull action L. L 2 Ò Ù J 5 Both the mesh and pleated filters may be washed (in warm water only) but must be thoroughly air-dried before refitting. Re-locate the pleated filter back into position on the canister lid by aligning the tabs on the dust canister lid Ù (marked by arrows) L with cut away sections on the top of the pleated filter before pushing into place.
