Your camera uses one 3-volt CR123Alithium battery to supply power for all camera operations. If blinks in the data panel with the other indicators, the battery will need to be replaced soon. The flash will fire automatically when necessary, such as lowlight situations indoors and before or after sunset. When the flash lamp glows brightly, press the shutter-release button all the way down to take the picture. When the shutter-release button is pressed partway down, the self-timer/ red-eye reduction lamp on the front of the camera will illuminate to help reduce the red-eye effect in flash pictures. Frame your subject in the viewfinder, then press the shutter-release button partway down. Press the shutter release button all the way down to take the picture (O).
