[. . . ] There are lasers in the lighting (laser beam class 1M) which you should avoid looking at directly. Adjusting the brightness The brightness of the interior lighting can be adjusted. The indicator light will come on 16 Storing wine bottles Any vibration or movement of the bottle can affect the wine by interrupting the natural respiration process and so impair the taste. As far as possible, store bottles of the same type of wine beside each other on the same shelf. Removing a bottle of one type will then leave the other types undisturbed and will avoid the need to move different bottles around. Bottle presenter The bottle presenter can be used to raise a particular bottle of wine so that it can be viewed when the door is shut. Wooden shelves The wooden shelves are on runners which can be pulled out to make it easier to store and remove bottles. ^ Pull out the wooden shelf on its rails until it stops, then lift it up and out. ^ To replace the shelf, click it into place on the extended rails. ^ Clamp the bottle presenter under one of the wooden shelves. Other bottles can continue to be stored next to the bottle presenter in the usual way. ^ When the bottle presenter is not in use, it can be stored the other way up on one of the wooden shelves. Additional bottle presenters are available from the Miele Spare Parts Department. Descriptive labels Use the labels supplied to identify your wine quickly and easily. Insert the labels into the strips at the front of the shelves from above. Additional labels can be purchased from your Miele Dealer or the Miele Spare Parts Department. Maximum capacity A total of 143 bottles (0. 75 l) can be stored in the appliance, with 36 in the upper zone, 45 in the middle zone and 62 in the lower zone. 17 Storing wine bottles Door lock You can lock the door of the wine conditioning unit to prevent it being opened without your knowledge. To unlock the appliance, carry out the procedure in the reverse order, turning the key in the opposite direction. 18 Alarm Your appliance is fitted with a warning system which ensures that the temperature in the three zones cannot rise or fall unnoticed and impair the wine. Activating the alarm system The alarm system is always active. It does not have to be switched on manually. Temperature alarm The alarm will sound if the temperature in one of the zones rises approx. The alarm will sound and the temperature display will flash: ­ when you switch the appliance on, and for as long as the temperature in a particular zone differs from the temperature set. ­ if the door has been left open for a while in order to re-arrange or take wine bottles out and warm air has entered the appliance. ­ if a large number of wine bottles are put into the storage unit at once. ­ if there has been a lengthy interruption to the power supply. Switching the alarm off early Once the set temperature has been reached in a particular temperature zone, the alarm stops and the temperature display concerned lights up constantly. However, if the noise disturbs you, you can switch the alarm off before this if you wish. ^ Press the alarm off button concerned. The temperature display continues to flash until the set temperature has been reached. The display then lights up constantly, The alarm system is now fully active once more. Door alarm If the door has been left open for more than approx. 60 seconds the alarm will sound. 19 Defrosting Condensate and frost can build up on the back wall of the appliance whilst it is in use. [. . . ] A constant 31 Changing the door hinging The appliance is supplied right hand hinged. Unscrew lower hinge bracket c and refit lower hinge bracket b on the opposite side. On the underside of the appliance door: ^ Remove door opening limiter e and refit it on the opposite side. ^ Remove cover cap f and pull hinge pin g and bearing bush h out from underneath the other side of the door.
