[. . . ] Installation instructions Dishwasher To prevent accidents and machine damage, read these instructions before installation or use. UV M. -Nr. 34 2 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Installation Installation, repair and maintenance work should be by a Miele authorized service technician. Work by unqualified persons could be dangerous and could void the warranty. This equipment is not designed for maritime use or for use in mobile installations such as caravans or aircraft. [. . . ] If the locking screws on the edge of the dishwasher door can not be reached, the dishwasher will have to be pulled out of its opening a few inches. 21 Installation If the adjacent cabinetry (or appliance) does not have drawers and alignment to a drawer line is not possible: ^ Hang the bracket on the machine door, without the templates. ^ Measure the distance from the adjacent cabinet's (or appliance) door bottom to the bottom of the mounting bracket (X). ^ Draw a line on the rear of the door panel (X) inches up from the bottom. ^ Remove the bracket from the machine door and place it on the rear of the door panel so that: ­ the bracket is centered left to right, ­ the bottom of the bracket is aligned with the (X) line. ^ Tape the bracket to the door panel to hold it in place while the mounting holes are drilled. ^ Attach the bracket to the panel using the 6 screws provided. 22 Installation ^ Push up one side of the door panel until it touches the filler strips (or control panel if filler strips are not being used) and lightly tighten the T20 Torx screws on the corresponding edge of the machine door. Do not use a power screwdriver ^ Repeat the process with the other side of the door panel. It should be snug at the top and neatly aligned with the adjacent cabinetry. If it is not aligned properly, loosen the Torx screws and readjust the panel Once the door panel is positioned correctly: ^ Open the dishwasher door. ^ Use the provided caps to plug the locking screw access holes. ^ Attach the panel to the dishwasher by lining up the bracket tabs with the slots on the door. ^ Open the dishwasher door slightly. If the locking screws on the edge of the dishwasher door can not be reached, the dishwasher will have to be pulled out of its opening a few inches. 23 Installation 9. Secure the dishwasher to the For Corian®, marble or granite countertops, secure the dishwasher countertop ^ Open the dishwasher door. If the steam deflector is installed, the mounting bracket holes must align with the slots in the steam deflector. to the adjoining cabinets as follows: A special fixing angle (part # 03 341 080) must be ordered from your Miele dealer or the Miele Technical Service Department. ^ Slide the dishwasher out from under the countertop about 4" (10 cm). ^ Using flat head screws, secure the dishwasher to the countertop by screwing through both the mounting bracket and the steam deflector. Make certain that the white rubber seal located at the top, outer edge of the dishwasher is tight against the bottom of the countertop. Do not drill any additional holes through any part of the wash cabinet. If in doubt on how to secure the dishwasher, please call Miele's Technical Service Department. ^ Insert the tab of each fixing angle in to the guide hole on top of the dishwasher. Turn the fixing angle right or left so that it is next to the adjoining cabinetry. Align and fasten it to the adjacent cabinets using 2 screws for each fixing angle. 24 Installation For openings exactly 17 3/4" (45 cm) or 23 5/8" (60 cm) wide: should only be used for securing the dishwasher if the opening is exactly 17 3/4" (45 cm) wide (slim line models) or 23 5/8" (60 cm) wide (full size models). Use of this method on larger openings can damage the machine and cause leaks. Be careful not to screw into an adjacent appliance. , The side mounting holes ^ Open the dishwasher door and remove the caps covering the mounting holes on the outer edge of the wash cabinet. ^ Fasten the dishwasher to the adjacent cabinets using the supplied screws and bushings. [. . . ] An opening through the partition between the compartments of 1 1/2" (3 to 4 cm) can be made to allow the plug to pass through. Permanent Connection (Hard Wiring) For hard wiring, the power cord must be disconnected from the terminal box located at the lower left front of the dishwasher, behind the toekick and service panel. Pass the permanent power supply cable through the strain relief and secure it to the terminal box. Connect: L1 N (Black) to L on terminal block (White) to N on terminal block GRND To ground connector GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS This appliance must be connected to a grounded metal, permanent wiring system, or an equipment grounding conductor must be run with the circuit conductors and connected to the equipment grounding terminal or lead on the appliance. Use copper conductors only. , Hardwiring the dishwasher should only be done if required by local electrical codes, and then in accordance with those codes. [. . . ]
