Silver that has been cleaned in an immersion dip is usually dry at the end of a program, but may tarnish. These include egg yolk, onions, mayonnaise, mustard, legumes, fish, fish brine and marinades. ­ Silverware may tarnish or pit if washed next to stainless steel. Leave space between these metals. 22 Loading the dishwasher Cutlery basket ^ For the best cleaning results, spoons and forks should be placed in the basket with handles down.
