[. . . ] Infants and small children should be seated in a properly secured restraint system that complies with U. S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards 213 and 225 and Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards 213 and 210. 2. With the memory function you can store up to three different configurations. The following settings are stored when using the buttons on the driver's door: Driver's seat: head restraint height, seat and backrest position, backrest curvature in lumbar area Lumbar support (CL 550) Drive-dynamic multicontour seat*: activation/deactivation, sides of backrest, backrest curvature in lumbar and shoulder area Steering wheel position Exterior rear view mirrors position G Do not activate the memory function while driving. Activating the memory function while driving could cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle. Warning! G When leaving the vehicle, always remove the SmartKey or SmartKey with KEYLESS-GO* from the starter switch, take it with you, and lock the vehicle. Even with the SmartKey or SmartKey with KEYLESS-GO* removed from the starter switch or the SmartKey with KEYLESS-GO* removed from the vehicle, the memory function can be operated. Therefore, do not leave children unattended in the vehicle, or with access to an unlocked vehicle. A child's unsupervised access to a vehicle could result in an accident and/or serious personal injury. 385 Controls in detail Memory function The following settings are stored when using the buttons on the passenger door: Front passenger seat, head restraint high and backrest position Lumbar support (CL 550) Drive-dynamic multicontour seat*: activation/deactivation Storing positions into memory Adjust the seat ( page 368) to the desired position. On the driver's side: adjust the steering wheel ( page 379) and the exterior rear view mirrors ( page 381) to the desired position. Release memory button M and press one of the memory position buttons 1, 2 or 3 within 3 seconds. Do not operate the power seats using a memory position button if the seat backrest is in an excessively reclined position. Doing so could cause damage to front or rear seats. First move seat backrest to an upright position. Press and hold one of the memory position buttons 1, 2 or 3 until the seat, steering wheel and exterior rear view mirrors have completely moved to the stored positions. i Releasing the memory position button immediately stops movement to the stored positions. The drive-dynamic multicontour front seat* and/or lumbar support (CL 550) will continue to be adjusted. M Memory button 1 2 3 Memory position buttons 386 Controls in detail Memory function Storing exterior rear view mirror parking position For easier parking, you can adjust the passenger-side exterior rear view mirror so that you can see the right rear wheel as soon as you engage reverse gear R. For information on activating the parking position, see "Activating exterior rear view mirror parking position" ( page 384). Press switch 3 until the exterior mirror on the front passenger side is selected. Adjust the passenger-side exterior rear view mirror with button 2 so that you see the rear wheel and the road curb. 1 Memory button M 2 Adjustment button 3 Selector switch for right or left exterior mirror The parking position is stored if the mirror does not move. i If the mirror does move, repeat the above steps. After the setting is stored, you can move the mirror again. 387 Controls in detail Fastening the seat belts Warning! G Warning! G Warning! G Always fasten your seat belt before driving off. Failure to wear and properly fasten and position your seat belt greatly increases your risk of injuries and their likely severity in an accident. If you are ever in an accident, your injuries can be considerably more severe without your seat belt properly buckled. Without your seat belt buckled, you are much more likely to hit the interior of the vehicle or be ejected from it. In the same crash, the possibility of injury or death is lessened if you are wearing your seat belt. [. . . ] If you are not sure about the water quality, consult an authorized Mercedes-Benz Center. Anticorrosion/antifreeze Your vehicle contains a number of aluminum parts. The use of aluminum components in motor vehicle engines necessitates that anticorrosion/antifreeze coolant used in such engines be specifically formulated to protect the aluminum parts. Failure to use such anticorrosion/ antifreeze coolant will result in a significantly shortened service life. [. . . ]
