User Guide Version1. 1 3. 2. 3 Cable Connection High speed through cable usually does not need to be configured if you are connecting the cable modem to your network adapter using an Ethernet cable, however, you should turn on the Windows Firewall before you plug your computer in to the cable modem. If your cable modem is connected to your computer using a USB cable you will have to install the cable modem software and configure your cable modem according to your ISPs specifications.
