Unplug the unit from the wall outlet if it is not to be used for several days or more. [. . . ] (NTSC) Press the SET - (or +) button to set the day (ex : 12), then press the SHIFT button. [. . . ] PANIC INPUT Terminal 1) "N/C" (Normally Closed Switch Circuit) If the input becomes DC 5V for 500 msec or more, the VCR starts panic recording. 2) "N/O" (Normally OPEN Switch Circuit) If the input becomes 0V for 500 msec or more, the VCR starts panic recording. This terminal is usually connected to the switch input of devices like a camera switching unit, or a quad compressor.
