Your camera and lenses have many moving parts which require periodic lubrication. Its electronic components, too, are subject to wear and tear and are affected by ambient conditions like dust, sand, sea air, heat and moisture. Page 77 55 56 Manual Mode (M) This mode is used to set both the aperture and shutter speed for total exposure control. Shutter speeds can be selected from B (bulb), 30 seconds to 1/4000 of a second. Hold down the button and turn the exposure mode setting dial to "M" (Manual) position. When the shutter release button is halfpressed, the difference between the present settings and the metered value is displayed in the viewfinder's LCD panel. The value is displayed in 1/3 stop increments within a range of 6 EV. Example: "+2. 3" indicates +2 3 EV, "-5. 7" indicates -5 3 EV. When the exposure is compensated in the Manual mode, the difference between the metered value and the compensated value will be displayed on the viewfinder LCD. In the B (Bulb) mode, the difference with the metered value is not displayed. 2 1 2. Turn the front dial to set the desired shutter speed. When the set value matches with the metered value, the difference indicator will show "0. 0". Page 77 57 58 One-push shift function When difference between the set value and metered value is displayed on the viewfinder LCD in the Manual "M" mode, press the AEL button for approx. 1 second and the camera will automatically adjust the shutter speed to achieve the correct exposure based on the set aperture value. X Mode (X) Select this mode when you use a flash. The shutter speed will be fixed of 1/125 second of the synchronized speed.
