Manual abstract: user guide MAKITA BJV140

Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury. Safety equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or plugging in power tools that have the switch on invites accidents. [. . . ] Always stop tool operation and charge the battery cartridge when you notice less tool power. Before using battery cartridge, read all instructions and cautionary markings on (1) battery charger, (2) battery, and (3) product using battery. It may result in a risk of overheating, possible burns and even an explosion. If electrolyte gets into your eyes, rinse them out with clear water and seek medical attention right away. Do not short the battery cartridge: (1) Do not touch the terminals with any conductive material. CAUTION: Always be sure that the tool is switched off and the battery cartridge is removed before adjusting or checking function on the tool. Always switch off the tool before insertion or removal of the battery cartridge. To remove the battery cartridge, withdraw it from the tool while sliding the button on the front of the cartridge. To insert the battery cartridge, align the tongue on the battery cartridge with the groove in the housing and slip it into place. Always insert it all the way until it locks in place with a little click. If you can see the red part on the upper side of the button, it is not locked completely. If not, it may accidentally fall out of the tool, causing injury to you or someone around you. If the cartridge does not slide in easily, it is not being inserted correctly. This tool can be operated with an orbital or a straight line (up and down) cutting action. CAUTION: Before inserting the battery cartridge into the tool, always check to see that the switch trigger actuates properly and returns to the "OFF" position when released. â· When not operating the tool, depress the lock-off button from A side to lock the switch trigger in the OFF position. To prevent the switch trigger from accidentally pulled, the lock-off button is provided. To start the tool, depress the lock-off button from B side and pull the switch trigger. If the tool consistently fails to quickly stop after switch trigger release, have tool serviced at a Makita service center. CAUTION: Do not look in the light or see the source of light directly. Be careful not to scratch the lens of lamp, or it may lower the illumination. CAUTION: Always be sure that the tool is switched off and the battery cartridge is removed before carrying out any work on the tool. [. . . ] Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. Some states do not allow limitation on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. CAUTION: These accessories or attachments are recommended for use with your Makita tool specified in this manual. The use of any other accessories or attachments might present a risk of injury to persons. [. . . ]
