Manual abstract: user guide MAKITA 6934FD

Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. The term "power tool" in all of the warnings listed below refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or batteryoperated (cordless) power tool. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS Work area safety 1. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock. [. . . ] Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. Keep handles dry, clean and free from oil and grease. SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES GEB009-2 DO NOT let comfort or familiarity with product (gained from repeated use) replace strict adherence to recipro saw safety rules. If you use this tool unsafely or incorrectly, you can suffer serious personal injury. 1. Hold power tools by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where the cutting tool may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a "live" wire will make exposed metal parts of the tool "live" and shock the operator. Check the socket carefully for wear, cracks or damage before installation. The proper fastening torque may differ depending upon the kind or size of the bolt. 3. 6. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS WARNING: MISUSE or failure to follow the safety rules stated in this instruction manual may cause serious personal injury. 4 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR BATTERY CARTRIDGE 1. Before using battery cartridge, read all instructions and cautionary markings on (1) battery charger, (2) battery, and (3) product using battery. If operating time has become excessively shorter, stop operating immediately. It may result in a risk of overheating, possible burns and even an explosion. If electrolyte gets into your eyes, rinse them out with clear water and seek medical attention right away. Always cover the battery terminals with the battery cover when the battery cartridge is not used. 7. ENC004-1 (1) Do not touch the terminals with any conductive material. (2) Avoid storing battery cartridge in a container with other metal objects such as nails, coins, etc. A battery short can cause a large current flow, overheating, possible burns and even a breakdown. Do not store the tool and battery cartridge in locations where the temperature may reach or exceed 50°C (122°F). Do not incinerate the battery cartridge even if it is severely damaged or is completely worn out. 3. 4. 5. 8. 6. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS Tips for maintaining maximum battery life 1. Always stop tool operation and charge the battery cartridge when you notice less tool power. Charge the battery cartridge with room temperature at 10°C - 40°C (50°F - 104°F). Charge the Nickel Metal Hydride battery cartridge when you do not use it for more than six months. 2. [. . . ] Take out the worn carbon brushes, insert the new ones and secure the brush holder caps. After replacing brushes, insert the battery cartridge into the tool and break in brushes by running tool with no load for about 1 minute. Then check the tool while running and electric brake operation when releasing the switch trigger. If electric brake is not working well, ask your local Makita service center for repair. [. . . ]
