Manual abstract: user guide MAKITA 6903VD

Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] Do not store the machine and battery cartridge in locations where the temperature may reach or exceed 50°C (122°F). Do not incinerate the battery cartridge even if it is severely damaged or is completely worn out. Before using battery charger, read all instructions and cautionary markings on (1) battery charger, (2) battery, and (3) product using battery. CAUTION -- To reduce risk of injury, charge only MAKITA type rechargeable batteries. [. . . ] Never use it for other purposes or for other manufacturer's batteries. When you charge a new battery cartridge or a battery cartridge which has not been used for a long period of time, it may not accept a full charge. You can recharge the battery cartridge fully after discharging it completely and recharging a couple of times. When you charge a battery cartridge from a justoperated machine or a battery cartridge which has been left in a location exposed to direct sunlight or heat for a long time, let it cool off. When you charge a new battery cartridge or a battery cartridge which has not been used for a long period, sometimes the charging light will go out soon. If the charging light goes out within one minute even after repeating this procedure a couple of times, the battery cartridge is dead. If you leave the battery cartridge in the charger to prevent spontaneous discharging after full charge, the charger will switch into its ``trickle charge (maintenance charge)'' mode and keep the battery cartridge fresh and fully charged. Always stop machine operation and charge the battery cartridge when you notice less machine power. Insert the battery cartridge so that the plus and minus terminals on the battery cartridge are on the same sides as their respective markings on the battery charger. When the battery cartridge is inserted, the charging light color will flash in red color and charging will begin. If you leave the battery cartridge in the charger after the charging cycle is complete, the charger will switch into its ``trickle charge (maintenance charge)'' mode. After charging, remove the battery cartridge from the charger and unplug the charger from the power source. Important: Always be sure that the machine is switched off and the battery cartridge is removed before installing or removing the bit. A = 17 mm B = 14 mm A = 11 mm B = 9 mm To install these types of bits, follow the procedure (1). (1) To install the bit, pull the sleeve in the direction of the arrow and insert the bit into the sleeve as far as it will go. 3) (2) To install the bit, pull the sleeve in the direction of the arrow and insert the bit-piece and the bit into the sleeve as far as it will go. The bit-piece should be inserted into the sleeve with its pointed end facing in. 4) To remove the bit, pull the sleeve in the direction of the arrow and pull the bit out firmly. NOTE: If the bit is not inserted deep enough into the sleeve, the sleeve will not return to its original position and the bit will not be secured. In this case, try re-inserting the bit according to the instructions above. [. . . ] The proper tightening torque may differ depending upon the kind or size of the screw, the material of the workpiece to be tightened, etc. When the battery cartridge is discharged almost completely, voltage will drop and the tightening torque will be reduced. Failure to use the correct size driver bit or socket bit will cause a reduction in the tightening torque. Even though the torque coefficient and the class of bolt are the same, the proper tightening torque will differ according to the diameter of bolt. [. . . ]
