The print cartridge does not print correctly if removed from the printer and left exposed for an extended period of time. Lexmark's printer warranty does not cover repair of failures or damage caused by a refilled cartridge. Refilling cartridges can affect print quality and cause damage to the printer. For help, see Understanding error messages and flashing lights. · The USB cable is securely attached to both the computer and the printer. · You disconnect your printer from hubs or other devices, such as a scanner or a fax machine. You may need to uninstall, and then reinstall the printer software. Uninstalling the printer software 1 Open a terminal window. 2 Type the following at a command line: rpm -e filename where filename is the name of the rpm file containing your software. For example: rpm -e lexmarkz25-35-1. 0-1 3 Continue with Installing the printer software. Installing the printer software Note: Before you begin, make sure gzip is loaded on your system. 1 Download the printer software from the Lexmark Web site at www. lexmark. com, or find the file on your computer. 2 Open the directory where you downloaded the zipped file.
