For help, see Understanding error messages and flashing lights. · The USB cable is securely attached to both the computer and the printer. · You disconnect your printer from hubs or other devices, such as a scanner or a fax machine. You may need to uninstall, and then reinstall the printer software. Uninstalling the printer software 1 Open a terminal window. 2 Type the following at a command line: rpm -e filename where filename is the name of the rpm file containing your software. For example: rpm -e lexmarkz23-33-1. 0-1. 3 Continue with Installing the printer software. Installing the printer software Note: Before you begin, make sure gzip is loaded on your system. 1 Download the printer software from the Lexmark Web site at www. lexmark. com, or find the file on your computer. 2 Open the directory where you downloaded the zipped file.
