Canceling a fax job 50 7 Copying You can load an original document into the ADF or on the scanner glass. ADF Scanner glass Use the ADF for multiple­page documents. Note: Do not load postcards, 4 x 6 cards, small items, or thin media (such as magazine clippings or carbonless paper) into the ADF. Place these items on the scanner glass. Use the scanner glass for single-page documents, postcards, 4 x 6 cards, small items, or thin media (such as magazine clippings or carbonless paper). Making a copy 1 Load paper. Note: If you are using a paper size other than letter or A4, select the paper type and size using the control panel. For more information, see Setting the paper type and size on page 35. In addition, using the X342n you can scan the document back to your computer over the network. [. . . ] Some parameters required for compliance with Telecom's telepermit requirements are dependent on the equipment (PC) associated with this device. The associated equipment shall be set to operate within the following limits for compliance to Telecom's specifications: · There shall be no more than 10 call attempts to the same number within any 30 minute period for any single manual call initiation, and · The equipment shall go on-hook for a period of not less than 30 seconds between the end of one attempt and the beginning of the next call attempt. Using this product in Germany This product requires a German billing tone filter (Lexmark part number 14B5123) to be installed on any line which receives metering pulses in Germany. The subscriber may request that metering pulses be placed on the line, or can have them removed by calling the German network provider. Normally, metering pulses are not provided unless specifically requested by the subscriber at the time of installation. Using this product in Switzerland This product requires a Swiss billing tone filter (Lexmark part number 80D1877) to be installed on any line which receives metering pulses in Switzerland. [. . . ]
