[. . . ] Please always try the Hot Brand code search FIRST, then if no code in the list of brands and models matches your device, try the Manual set-up, and only if this one fails, try the Quick/Automatic programming. For example, start by setting your remote to your TV, then to your DVD player. If the brand of the device you want to program on the remote control is in the list, you should be able to make the settings quickly. There is a different code list for each of the 4 devices which your remote control can be set to. [. . . ] Note: After pressing the Power key (step 5), press the EXIT key at anytime to stop the search and exit the manual set-up mode. If no key is pressed for more than 15 seconds, the setup ends automatically and the LED goes off. Use the Quick search if you didn't have the time to store the correct code during step 5 of the Auto search. Press the Pause key during the Auto search to enter the Quick search mode. If the device does not turn on, press the CH key every 2 seconds until it does. promptly press the corresponding device key on the remote control to store the code and exit. Note: If you accidentally pressed on the _ key after the device has turned on, + press on the CH key right away and wait for 2 seconds to see if your device turns off. Check whether all applications of your device can be operated with the remote control keys. Press and hold the key of the device you have programmed on the remote control for 3 seconds. The LED located on the top part of the remote control will turn on and then turn off after 3 seconds. You can exit the Auto and Quick search modes at anytime by pressing the In Auto search mode, the remote control searches the correct codes very quickly and you may not have enough time to store them (step 5 of the Auto search mode). It is recommended to use both the Auto search and the Quick search methods by pressing on the Pause key. When the correct code has been found, if the original remote control of the device you want to control with the ST400 didn't have a Power key, the device may not turn off but play, change channels or the sound will go off. You can browse through the tables + using the Fast Forward , Fast Rewind , CH and keys CH . _ If no key is pressed for more than 15 seconds, the setup procedures stop automatically, but the codes stored will not be lost or changed. In Auto search mode, all the function keys except the Pause , EXIT, TV, DVD, VCR and SAT keys can be pressed without exiting the mode. In Quick search mode, all the function keys except the Pause , EXIT, + Fast Forward , Fast Rewind , CH , CH , TV, DVD, VCR and SAT keys _ can be pressed without exiting the mode. During the Auto search mode, press the Pause key once to enter the Quick search mode. In Quick search mode, the search direction can be changed by pressing: the Fast Forward key (transmits the next 10 codes, then stops), the Fast Rewind + key (transmits the previous 10 codes, then stops), the CH key (transmits _ the next code then stops), the CH key (transmits the previous code then stops). Storing your favourite channels and child lock function The FavCH key allows you to store your favourite channels or limit the number of channels accessible to your children (child lock function). You can store up to 15 of your favourite channels by sequences of 6 numbers. If a device has its own transport keys settings or data (such as some satellite receivers), the transport keys feature will not be activated.
