Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] Plug connection (for United Kingdom only) If a 3-pin 13 amp fused plug is used, it should be fitted with a 3 amp fuse; with other plug types, the circuit should contain a 5 amp fuse. Warning - This Appliance must be earthed. MOULDED-ON PLUG WITH FUSE (for United Kingdom only) The mains lead is fitted with a nonrewirable moulded-on 13 amp plug containing a 3 amp fuse. If the fuse requires replacing at any time, the fuse cover/carrier should be removed using a small screwdriver to lever it out. The old fuse should be replaced by a 3 amp ASTA approved BS1362 fuse and the fuse cover/carrier must be refitted before the plug is used again. [. . . ] Adjustment of the thermostat dial may therefore be necessary. TEMPERATURE CONTROL The cooling capacity can be adjusted with the thermostat. When the thermostat is at a medium setting (3 or 4) and the ambient temperature is normal, the temperature inside the refrigerator is between 0º-7ºC. Depending on the ambient temperature, service life, and quantity and temperature of the refrigerated items, the temperature inside the refrigerator can drop to below 0ºC when the thermostat is set at 7 (maximum cooling capacity). If the ambient temperature is very high, the cooling capacity decreases. This does not mean than the appliance is defective. USING THE REFRIGERATOR The refrigerator provides sufficient storage space for food, milk, drinks etc. The shelves on the inside of the door are suitable for bottles, tins and small packets. The un-refrigerated space above the cooling compartment can be used for storing glasses and snacks. 4 All food should be stored in its original packaging or in closed containers. In this way food remains moist, odours do not form and neither does excess ice form on the cooling unit. Allow hot food and drink to cool down before placing them in the refrigerator. The temperature in the freezer section of the unit is set at - 12ºC. Frozen products can be stored here for short periods (please follow the instructions on the packet very carefully!) Do not keep any easily combustible substances such as ether, petrol, adhesive, propane gas etc. in the refrigerator, it could explode! ICE CUBES Fill the ice-cube container to 4/5 with potable water. Wipe off any excess water to prevent the ice tray from freezing to the surface. To speed up the making of ice cubes, turn the thermostat to position 7 for a short while. Remember to turn the dial to its normal setting when the ice cubes are frozen. Remove the lid with the ice cubes from the ice tray and the ice cubes can now be taken out easily. CARE AND MAINTENANCE Defrosting Frost will gradually form on the cooling surfaces and it must not be allowed to become too thick since it impairs the cooling efficiency of the refrigerator. A552 model To defrost turn the thermostat dial to 0 remove the ice tray and leave the cabinet and frozen food storage compartment door open. The frost will melt and run into the drip collector which should be located underneath the frozen food storage compartment. When defrosting is complete, remove the drip collector and turn the thermostat dial to its normal setting. Rinse out the ice tray, refill it with fresh water and place it on its shelf. [. . . ] Longer periods of absence If you wish to switch off the appliance for a longer period of time, pull out the plug, defrost the refrigerator and clean it carefully. Leave the door open to prevent unpleasant odours from forming. TROUBLE-SHOOTING Before you call a service engineer, carry out the following simple tests. Is the plug firmly connected to the socket and is the socket switched on?Has the door not been closed properly causing the inside temperature to rise too quickly? [. . . ]
