To verify that your drive is correctly installed and communicating with your computer, follow these steps: Mac Users: In the Finder menu, click on About This Mac, then More Info. LaCie d2 Blu-ray Drive User Manual Using Your LaCie Drive Page 21 3. Inserting Discs A To insert a disc, push the Open/Close (A) button on your LaCie d2 Blu-ray Drive. When the disc tray opens, put the BD, DVD or CD media into the tray with the label side facing up. Make sure the BD, DVD or CD is correctly placed in the center of the disc tray. The power must be on in order to open the drive (ie the blue button must be lit). To close your LaCie d2 Blu-ray Drive, press the Open/Close button on the front of the drive. Pushing the media tray closed is not recommended. CAUTION: Do not force the tray closed. Accessing Discs Mac Users The BD, DVD or CD volume will appear as an icon on the Desktop. Windows Users The BD, DVD or CD volume will appear in your My Computer folder. Click on the icon to access the contents of the disc. CAUTION: Do not attempt to open the drive's disc tray or remove the disc while the unit is in use and being accessed by the computer. You may injure yourself, and damage the drive and/or your computer system. [. . . ] Supported Blu-ray/DVD/CD Formats for the disc formats supported by your drive. Pre-recorded Blu-ray Disc titles will play on any standard definition TV set, even if the video was encoded in High Definition. Likewise, a Blu-ray Disc recorder can also record standard definition video, for example from regular TV broadcasts or camcorders.
