[. . . ] Place the transmitter onto the screw, using the hanging hole on the backside. To achieve a true temperature/humidity reading, mount the transmitter out of direct sunlight. Mount the outdoor transmitter on a North-facing wall or in any well shaded area. Obstacles such as walls, windows, stucco, concrete, and large metal objects can reduce the range. [. . . ] View Alarm Activate/Deactivate Alarm 1 step forward (setup) Select temperature in °C/° F 1 step backward (setup) 1-time MAX values 2-times MIN values 1-time Heat Index 2-times Dew Point Switch channels (multiple transmitters) Dim backlight for night time. Trigger snooze alarm Hold 3-5 seconds Enter program menu, set time, date, etc. Alarm set Search for WWVB signal Fast advance (setup) Fast backward (set) Resets all MIN / MAX values Color LCD Battery Compartment 5 volt a/c Set up instructions step by step: Step 1: Remove battery cover from LCD Display, slide tab to right and pull out to remove the cover. Insert 3 NEW AA batteries (not included) into the back of the LCD Display. Observe the correct polarity (see marking inside the battery compartment). The display will light up and display, indoor temperature, humidity and channel 1. Step 2: Insert the 5 volt AC power adapter into the designated area on the back of the LCD display. Insert the power adapter plug into a wall outlet if you want a continuous backlight display. IMPORTANT: When operating on a/c power, the backlight will turn off while the Display searches for the WWVB signal, to avoid interference. Slide the battery cover down and lift off the back of the transmitter Insert 2 NEW AA batteries into the transmitter. You will see a CH switch next to the battery install area, this is factory set at Channel 1, keep it at channel 1. Keep the LCD display and the transmitter close to each other (within 10 feet) Within 3 minutes the LCD display will Beep and the Outdoor temperature should be displayed. Trouble shooting: If after 3 minutes of waiting, the Outdoor temperature does not show up in the designated area on the display Remove the power adapter and all batteries from both units and TRY the set up again. If the outdoor temperature does not show up after a second attempt to initiate, we suggest you slide open the battery cover of the outdoor transmitter and you will Search for remote transmitter Turn continuous backlight ON or OFF (a/c adapter) BACKLIGHT: A/C adapter: The backlight is on continuously when operating the display with the 6-volt a/c adapter. hIGH: The backlight is defaulted to HI when the a/c cord is inserted. OFF: Hold the HOLD ON/OFF button for 5 seconds, until the station beeps, to turn the backlight off, to sleep. ON: Hold the HOLD ON/OFF button again until the station beeps, to turn the backlight on. Note: When the backlight is off, press any button to activate the backlight for 8 seconds. Battery power: Press and release the SNOOZE/LIGHT button and the backlight will show for 8 seconds, when operating on batteries only. ALARM SET: ALARM HOUR: Press and hold ALARM button to enter alarm time setting mode. ALARM ACTIVATION: Press and release the ALARM button once to show Alarm Time. Press and release the ALARM button repeatedly to activate or deactivate the Alarm. [. . . ] warranty service can only be performed by a La Crosse Technology , Ltd authorized service center.
