If the outdoor temperature is not displayed after 3 minutes, hold the SEARCH button on the main unit to search for outdoor sensor. If it still does not receive the outdoor temperature, remove AC power and batteries from the receiver, remove the batteries from the transmitter and go back to step 1 of the set up. To ensure sufficient 434 MHz transmission, the outdoor transmitter should be placed a distance of no more than 200 feet (60 meters, open air) from the weather station. 6. CHOOSE FAHRENHEIT/CELSIUS: WWVB Reception Low Battery Temperature / Humidity (Indoor or Outdoor) Weather station: Press and release the C/F button once to switch from Fahrenheit to Celsius. HEAT / DEW TEMP. [. . . ] x Insert fresh alkaline batteries into the transmitter, observing the correct polarity Press the TX button to send a signal after the display is powered up. x Within 3 minutes the station will beep and the outdoor temperature should be displayed on the Weather station. If the outdoor temperature is not displayed after 3 minutes hold the SEARCH button on the main unit to search for outdoor sensor. Then press the TX LIGHT ON/OFF AUTO ROTATE IN / OUT 1 step backward when setting Turn On or Off Auto-switch between Turn On or Off continuous indoor/outdoor data. backlight on a/c adapter WWVB RADIO CONTROLLED TIME The NIST radio station, WWVB, is located in Ft. Collins, Colorado and transmits the exact time signal continuously throughout the United States at 60 kHz. The signal can be received up to 2, 000 miles away through the internal antenna in the atomic weather station. However, due to the nature of the Earth's Ionosphere, reception is very limited during daylight hours. The atomic weather station will search for a signal every night when reception is best. The WWVB radio station derives its signal from the NIST atomic weather station in Boulder, Colorado. A team of atomic physicists continually measures every second of every day to an accuracy of ten billionths of a second a day. These physicists have created an international standard, measuring a second as 9, 192, 631, 770 vibrations of a Cesium 133 atom in a vacuum. WWVB RECEPTION icon with full signal strength will appear on screen if the reception of atomic time is successful. The atomic weather station will have a daily synchronization at 02:03 and 03:03 everyday. In normal mode, press the RCC button until the reception icon appears to enforce searching of radio-controlled clock signal. If this icon disappears afterwards, radio time signal is not available at the moment. x x x Recommended distance to any interfering sources like computer monitors or TV sets is a minimum of 6 feet (2 meters). Within ferro-concrete rooms (basements, superstructures), the received signal is naturally weakened. In extreme cases, please place the unit close to a window and/ or point its front or back towards the Fort Collins, Colorado, transmitter. During nighttime, the atmospheric disturbances are usually less severe and reception is possible in most cases. A single daily reception is adequate to keep the accuracy deviation below 1 second. 2 5 x button again on the sensor to send signal. If that doesn't work, remove power from both units and start again from the beginning. To ensure sufficient 434 MHz transmission, the outdoor transmitter should be placed a distance of no more than 200 feet (60 meters, open air) from the Color Weather station. NOTE: In case the atomic color weather station is not able to detect the WWVB-signal (disturbances, transmitting distance, etc. ), the time can be manually set (please refer to notes TIME SET). INSTALL BATTERIES OR A/C POWER ADAPTER INTO THE WEATHER STATION: Function Buttons PROGRAM MENU: TIME SET: The SET button moves through the program menu and the UP or DOWN button change the values. [. . . ] The word AUTO will appear in the lower right display when this feature is active. BACKLIGHT: A/C adapter: The backlight can be on continuously when operation with the 6-volt a/c adapter. x OFF: Hold the LIGHT ON/OFF button for 5 seconds to turn off the backlight, to sleep. Battery power: The backlight will light for 8 seconds when operating on batteries only. [. . . ]
