Verifying the Number of Total Printed Pages This procedure only displays the total number of printed pages. Press the or key until Life Counters > appears. Life Counters > 3 4 Press the > key. Press the or key until >Total Print appears. >Total Print 0123456 5 Press the MENU key. The message display returns to Ready. 1-74 Using the Operator Panel Resetting the Remaining Toner Counter If the toner container was replaced, reset the toner counter as follows so that an accurate toner gauge measurement is indicated on the status page. Note that if this operation is performed when the toner cartridge is not replaced, the toner gauge measurement will not be indicated correctly. Also refer to the Installation Guide supplied with the toner kit when replacing the toner container. 1 2 Press the MENU key. Press the or key until Life Counters > appears. Life Counters > 3 4 Press the > key. Press the or key until >New Toner Installed appears. >New Toner Installed 5 Press the ENTER key. A question mark (?) appears. >New Toner Installed ? 6 Press the ENTER key. The toner counter is reset, and the message display returns to Ready. 1-75 Using the Operator Panel Other Modes The modes described in the following pages can be accessed from the Others submenu. The Others submenu allows you to perform the following: ·Selecting in what language messages are displayed ·Setting the Automatic Form Feed time-out ·Setting the Sleep Timer ·Dumping received data ·Resetting the printer ·Protecting resources ·Setting the Auto Continue ·Accessing the service menu (for service personnel) Selecting a Message Language You can select the language in which the messages on the display will be presented. 1 2 Press the MENU key. Press the or key until Others > appears. Others > 3 4 Press the > key. The default message language is English. >MSG Language English 1-76 Using the Operator Panel 5 To change the language, press the ENTER key. The display cycles through the available selections in the following order (The key cycles in the reverse order): >MSG Language ?Português If you want to abandon this procedure, press the CANCEL key. 7 8 Press the ENTER key. The message display returns to Ready. 1-77 Using the Operator Panel Automatic Form Feed Time-out Setting When the printer remains idle for some time, it times out and releases the current interface; it prints whatever data is in its buffer and feeds out the page. You can adjust the time-out length as follows: 1 2 Press the MENU key. Press the or key until Others > appears. Others > 3 4 Press the > key. The default is 30 seconds. >Form Feed Time Out 030sec. 5 6 Press the ENTER key. A blinking cursor (_) appears. >Form Feed Time Out 030sec. Press the or key to increase or decrease the value where the cursor is blinking and so set the desired time. The time can be set between 0 and 495 seconds, in 5-second increments. [. . . ] KM-NET VIEWER is contained on the Kyocera Mita Digital Library CD-ROM supplied with the printer. Expansion memory This option is used to increase printer memory. The printer has one expansion slot, and you can install a 16 MB, 32 MB, 64 MB, or 128 MB DIMM (Dual Inline Memory Module). Contact your Kyocera Mita dealer to purchase the DIMM that is best suited for use with this printer. KPDL (Kyocera Printer Description Language) This is Kyocera Mita's version of Adobe PostScript 2. Face-up tray This is located at the rear of the printer. Select paper output to the face-up tray when printing on postcards, envelopes, or labels.
