Ensure that the power plug is at all times easily accessible, so that it can be quickly and easily removed in the event of potential danger. Do NOT connect the string of lights to a wall socket if it is still in its packaging. [. . . ] Should the power cable or the connector power pack become damaged the string of lights may no longer be used, as it is no longer safe. Immediately remove the power pack from the wall socket if the string of lights fails to function correctly or is recognisably damaged, especially if the glass of a bulb is cracked or broken. Arrange for the appliance to be checked by Customer Services if other damage is recognisable. Place the string of lights and its power cable such that no one can trip or stumble over it. This appliance is not intended for use by individuals (including children) with restricted physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or deficiences in experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or receive from this person instruction in how the appliance is to be used. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Insert the plug of the connector power pack q into a wall socket to take the string of lights into use. If the string of lights does not emit light: Check that each individual bulb r is sitting firmly in its pinned socket y and the plug of the power pack q is firmly held in the wall socket. Should individual lamps not emit light: Replace them as described in the following. The string of lights is "live" for as long as the connector power pack q is connected to the power source. Remove the bulb r together with the pinned plug t from the pinned socket y. Using more powerful bulbs, or those with different wattages, could lead to the other bulbs becoming too hot or to an overload of the power cable. Insert the new bulb r complete with its pinned plug t into the pinned socket y. The pinned plug t is at the lead, thus the bulb cannot be incorrectly inserted. Check to ensure that the string of lights is undamaged and all parts and remnants of the packaging are removed from it. Re-insert the plug of the connector power pack q into the wall socket. [. . . ] Dispose of the appliance through an approved disposal centre or at your community waste facility. Failure to do so brings with it the risk of a potentially fatal electric shock should you come into contact with electrical parts or moisture permeates the appliance.
