[. . . ] To scan with your all-in-one printer, it must be connected to a computer with a USB cable. You save the scanned file(s) to your computer; you cannot save to a memory card in the printer. Before you begin scanning Change the default scan settings in the Home Center Software. (Click the Tool icon, then select Printer Scan Settings. )You can adjust the following settings for scanned pictures and documents: · Color / black-and-white / gray scale · Resolution (dpi) · File format (. pdf, . rtf, . tif, . jpg for documents; . jpg, . bmp, . tif for pictures) · Base name (by default, scanned files are named "scan1", "scan2", etc) · Location (folder) where the scanned files will be saved Before saving a scanned file, you can preview it in Home Center Software, and crop the output as desired. icon) for instructions. NOTE: For Home Center Software to interpret two or more pictures, the scan option must be set to Picture. When scanning multiple pictures, leave space between the pictures so that the printer can detect the separate pictures. Any pictures that overlap are interpreted as a single picture. However, Kodak recommends cleaning the scanner glass and lid regularly to remove dust and fingerprints, which affect the quality and accuracy of scanning. Except for cleaning the printer, keep the printer plugged in with AC power turned on. For recycling and/or disposal information, contact your local authorities. General care and cleaning CAUTION: Always disconnect the power to the printer before cleaning it. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaners or organic solvents on the printer or any of its parts. · To clean the printer, wipe the outside with a clean, dry cloth.
