Point the REMOTE (8) toward the front of the camera and press the remote button. The REMOTE-CONTROL LAMP (7) blinks and the shutter releases after approximately 3 seconds. · After you take the picture, the remote control is canceled. Changing the remote-control battery The remote control uses a 3-volt lithium KODAK KCR2032 (or equivalent) Battery. Replace the battery when the remotecontrol button does not release the shutter. Replace cover and re-attach the screws. 20 Date and Time Imprinting This camera has a quartz clock and automatic calendar through the year 2099. You can record the date in a choice of three formats: (year/month/day, day/month/year, month/day/year) or time (hour/minute). Traditional cameras print date and/or time information directly onto the film. Your camera uses the film's magnetic data-recording capability to record date and time information which your photofinisher imprints on the back of your photographs. Setting the date and time 1. Press the DATE BUTTON (25) repeatedly to scroll and select desired date format. Press the ZOOM-DIAL LEVER (15) to the right or left to increase or decrease the number. Press the ENTER BUTTON (22) to store the selection and to activate the next "blinking" date option (follow steps 3 and 4 to complete your selection). Repeat steps 1­4 for setting the time. 21 Setting the Language U. S. "ENGLISH" is initially set into the memory of this camera or you can change the language to "DEUTSCH" for German, "FRANCAIS" for French, "ESPANOL" for Spanish or [Katakana] for Japanese. Press and hold the TITLE BUTTON (20) for approximately 4 seconds until the TEXT-MESSAGING PANEL (30) displays "SET LANGUAGE" followed by a "blinking" language. NOTE: Turn camera off and back on to refresh it if the blinking language doesn't appear within 4 seconds. Press the ZOOM-DIAL LEVER (15) or the title button to cycle to your selection. · After you set the language, the textmessaging panel will display "LANGUAGE IS" followed by the selected language. 22 Title Imprinting You can choose a print title from the preselected titles stored in the camera or customize your own titles (see Customizing print titles) before you take the picture. You also have the option to choose an additional title for the entire roll of film from the preselected titles (see Quick-Reference Guide) or you can customize your own titles. The titles you select will be recorded on the film's magnetic data-recording area. At certified Advanced Photo System labs, the selected titles will be printed on the back of the print. Look for this logo to select a certified photofinisher. Selecting print titles 1. [. . . ] Press the ZOOM-DIAL LEVER (15) to select the desired number of prints. · After you take the picture, the print quantity defaults to 1. 26 Unloading the Film Automatic rewind The camera automatically rewinds the film into the cassette after the last exposure. · The TEXT-MESSAGING PANEL (30) will display "FILM REWINDING" and the FRAME COUNTER (31) will count down to "0. " When the motor stops running, the text-messaging panel will display "REMOVE FILM. " 2. Turn the camera upside down and slide the FILM-DOOR LATCH (17) to open the FILM DOOR (18) and to partway eject the film. 2 1 4 3 3. [. . . ]
