If an unstable condition occurs - a sudden evasive movement for example - ESC intervenes within fractions of a second via the engine computer and brake system and attempts to stabilize the vehicle. 4 32 Driving your vehicle ESC operation off ESC OFF state ESC ESC operation, OFF · To cancel ESC OFF button press the (ESC OFF indicator light illuminates). · If the ignition switch is turned to LOCK position when ESC is off, ESC remains off. Upon restarting the engine, the ESC will automatically turn on again. If the ESC is left on, it may prevent the vehicle speed from increasing, and cause a false diagnosis of a faulty speedometer. · Turning the ESC off does not affect ABS or brake system operation. The fuel gauge is supplemented by a low fuel warning light, which will illuminate when the fuel tank is near empty. On inclines or curves, the fuel gauge pointer may fluctuate or the low fuel warning light may come on earlier than usual due to the movement of fuel in the tank. The speedometer indicates the forward speed of the vehicle. CAUTION Avoid driving with a very low fuel level. Use the tachometer to select the correct shift points and to prevent lugging and/or over-revving the engine.
