DO NOT use with water that is microbiologically unsafe, or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection. Each filling of the Water Filter Pitcher gives you about 2 quarts of refreshing, good tasting, fil tered water. UNPACKING/ GETTING YOUR WATER FILTER READY TO USE cover Remove each piece of the water filter from the sanitary plastic bags. Shake the cartridge for about 10 seconds to thoroughly mix the filtering mineral. Then, place the cartridge in a container of COLD faucet water and soak for 15 minutes. HAND WASH the cover, basket and pitcher in WARM wa ter and mild dishwashing detergent. If you do not expect to use the pitcher for a few days or longer, completely sub merge the cartridge in water until you are ready to use it again. If the cartridge does dry-out, soak it in water for at least 1 hour before using. Cartridge life is about 30 days, or 25 gal lons (50 pitcherfuls) of filtered water. When you notice taste and/ or odor in the filtered water, replace the cartridge. Note: Keep the new cartridge wrapped in the plastic bag until you are ready to use it.
