LINK) connector, and is also used to manage and edit the still images and video clips, and to create Video CDs. Digital Photo Navigator 1. 0 This application is used to capture still images and convert them into a variety of formats. G. 726 decoder This is an audio decoder for video clips created by the camcorder (extension ". asf"). NOTE: Install G. 726 decoder only when the camcorder is equipped with E-Mail Clip Recording function. Adobe® Acrobat® Reader 5. 0 This application is used to read PDF files. 1 Load the provided CD-ROM in the PC. After a moment, the [Important Notice] screen appears. If the [Important Notice] screen does not appear, double-click [My Computer] and then double-click the CD-ROM icon. 2 Confirm the contents and then click [Next]. After a moment, the [Setup] screen appears. From the [Setup] screen, you can install the desired driver or software. --5-- CONTINUED ON NEXT PAGE 3 Click [Install] on the right side of the desired software and follow the on screen instructions to complete the installation. The installation of the selected driver or software starts. The following is the example of Digital Photo Navigator on Windows® 98SE. The following is the example of USB Mass Storage Class driver on Windows® 98SE. Then, [Choose Destination Location] screen appears. Click [Finish]. Installing [ImageMixer with VCD 1. 1] When the error message below appears while installing ImageMixer, click [OK] to complete installation. NOTES: The Digital Photo Navigator and ImageMixer with VCD instruction manual is included on the CD-ROM in PDF format. Double-click the [JVC] folder and then double-click the [Docs] folder. You can also use a DV cable instead of a USB cable to capture video from a tape when using ImageMixer. Different file types are stored in different folders. Navigation data Still images DPOF Setting data Video clips Still images (extension ". jpg") Video clips (extension ". asf") DPOF setting data : Folders within the [DCIM] folder : Folders within the [DCVI] folder The [DCVI] folder is displayed only when the camcorder is equipped with E-Mail Clip Recording function. : Folders within the [MISC] folder -- 10 -- CONTINUED ON NEXT PAGE Navigation data : Folders within the [NAVI] folder The [NAVI] folder is displayed only when the camcorder is equipped with NAVIGATION function. NOTES: Saving the wrong kinds of files in a memory card or deleting files or folders from a memory card can cause problems with the operation of the camcorder. When it is necessary to delete a file from a memory card, delete it through the camcorder. [. . . ] 6 Set the Power Switch on the camcorder to "OFF". The camcorder turns off. Title converter Facility (Macintosh) Video images from the camcorder can be converted into title files for use by camcorder. -- 13 -- Connections (Macintosh) Connect the USB cable to copy still image and video clip files in a memory card to the PC or to use ImageMixer in capturing video. PC To USB connector To USB connector Camcorder USB cable 1 To assure safety, make sure all units are turned off before making any connections. 2 Use the USB cable to connect the camcorder to the PC. We recommend that you use the AC Adapter. NOTES: When the USB cable is connected, turning on or off the camcorder or switching the VIDEO/MEMORY (DSC) mode on the camcorder causes malfunctions of the PC. [. . . ]
