[. . . ] Q  T  Press the On/Off button to switch the machine on. pt ru 35 4  Permanent settings in programming mode The Y, < and > symbols flash, the machine heats up. Your ENA is ready for use. EE If no action is performed on the machine for 30 minutes, the ENA will automatically switch off to save energy. Daily maintenance To ensure that you get many years of reliable service out of your ENA and to guarantee the optimum coffee quality, the machine requires daily maintenance. T Empty the coffee grounds container and drip tray and rinse with warm water. EE Always empty the coffee grounds container when the machine is switched on. T Wipe the surface of the machine with a clean, soft, damp cloth (e. g. microfibre cloth). 4  Permanent settings in programming mode Inserting and activating the filter Your ENA no longer has to be descaled if you are using the CLARIS Blue filter cartridge. If you did not activate the filter cartridge the first time you used the machine, you can do this now as follows. EE Perform the ‘inserting the filter’ operation without any interruptions. T Insert the filter cartridge into the water tank, exerting slight pressure. Switching off the machine When the ENA is switched off, the system is automatically rinsed if a speciality coffee has been prepared. EE When the ENA is switched off with the On/ Off button, the machine does not consume standby energy. T Close the filter holder. Set the date on the date plate on the filter holder in the water tank. 36 de 5 Maintenance T Fill the water tank with fresh, cold water and reinsert it. T Empty the drip tray and coffee grounds container and reinsert them. !  T  Touch the Filter symbol to start rinsing of the filter The Y, <, > and !T Empty the drip tray and coffee grounds container and reinsert them. Your ENA is once more ready for use. &  T  Briefly touch the Descaling symbol. &  T  Touch the Descaling symbol to confirm that you want to set the water hardness to ‘level 3’. Your ENA is once more ready for use. en 5 Maintenance fr UU UU UU Your ENA has the following integrated maintenance programmes: Cleaning the machine Descaling the machine Changing the filter it Cleaning the machine After 180 preparations or 80 switch-on rinses, the ENA will prompt you to clean it. CAUTION If the wrong cleaning agent is used, the machine could be damaged and/or traces could be left behind in the water. L  T  Touch the Cleaning symbol for approximately 2 seconds. lights up. Setting the water hardness EE If you are using the CLARIS Blue filter cartridge and have activated it, there is no need to set the water hardness. The harder the water is, the more frequently the ENA needs to be descaled. The following water hardness settings are available: nl es Water hardness Symbol(s) shown in display Level 1: 1 – 15 °dH Level 2: 16 – 23 °dH Level 3: 24 – 30 °dH 1 symbol illuminated Y 2 symbols illuminated Y< 3 symbols illuminated Y<> pt Example: Change the water hardness setting from ‘level 2’ (Y <) to ‘level 3’ (Y < >). [. . . ] T The next time you prepare a beverage, add more ground coffee (see Chapter 2 ‘Preparation – Ground coffee’). The Y, <, >, ; and _ symbols flash. The ENA is ready for use and the Descaling symbol & lights up. After 50 litres of water have flowed through the CLARIS Blue filter cartridge, it will cease to work. There is insufficient ground coffee in the machine; the ENA stops the operation. es Preparing ground coffee: After ground coffee is added to the machine, the Y, <, > and v symbols flash briefly. pt ru 41 7 Troubleshooting 7 Troubleshooting Problem Coffee only comes out in drips when it is being prepared.
