Danger of burns! 9 Using the fryer Before frying Only operate the fryer with the lid removed. If re-using fat which has solidified in the reservoir, make a hole in the fat with a blunt utensil as far down as the heating element. ^ Turn the control knob to 212°F (100°C) and wait until the fat is completely melted. It must be between the minimum and maximum levels as marked on the rear wall of the reservoir.
