To protect the environment, please try to recycle the packing material as much as possible. Due to safety reasons it is prohibited to make unauthorized modifications to the unit. INSTALLATION GUIDELINES: Install the unit in a well-ventilated location where it will not be exposed to high temperatures or humidity. Placing and using the unit for long periods near heat-generating sources such as amplifiers, spotlights, etc. (screws not provided) Take care to minimize shocks and vibrations during transport. When installed in a booth or flight case, please make sure to have good ventilation to improve heat evacuation of the unit. To avoid condensation to be formed inside, allow the unit to adapt to the surrounding temperatures when bringing it into a warm room after transport. Condense sometimes prevents the unit from working at full performance. CLEANING THE APPLIANCE: Clean by wiping with a polished cloth slightly dipped with water. Do not use volatile liquids such as benzene or thinner which will damage the unit. The PCM-1 can be connected in different ways, below are the two most common: STANDALONE SETUP Connect the "player1" audio output to a line input of your mixer. If fader start is needed use the supplied fader start cable to connect the "control start" output of player1 with the corresponding fader start input of your mixer. Connect the "player2" audio output to another line input of your mixer. If fader start is needed use the supplied fader start cable to connect the "control start" output of player2 with the corresponding fader start input of your mixer. Connect the supplied USB cable between the USB-output of the controller and one of the USB-connectors on your PC or laptop. Connect the supplied AC/DC power adapter and switch the controller on Install the Deckadance PC-software from the CDROM. Please refer to the "software installation & setup manual" on the CDROM for more information about the installation and configuration of the Deckadance PCsoftware. When the software is installed on your PC, you should just refer to the setup panel here to see how the PCM-1 should be configured for operation with an external mixer. JOG dial: several functions are available: During normal play: used for pitch bending With JOG SEEK on: used to look up a certain position in the track (see n°18) In pause mode: used to look up a certain position in the track With SCRATCH on: used to simulate vinyl scratching (see n°16) SCRATCH button: used to switch the scratch function on/off PFL button: used to monitor the track via your headphones. jOG SEEK button: enables the "fast search" function to look up a certain part of a track. PITCH BEND+/- buttons: used to match the beats of two tracks, can be used in two ways: Press PITCH BEND+/- buttons: the music will play faster/slower as long as you press the buttons. [. . . ]
