Ensure that the spa is left filled with water when exposed to the sun and is covered with an isolating cover when not in use. Jacuzzi Premium constantly strives to offer the finest spas available, therefore modifications and enhancements may be made which affect the specifications, illustrations and/or instructions contained herein. [. . . ] - Re-install cabinet panels and cover spa with the insulating cover. Restarting your spa in cold weather Winterizing I Your Jacuzzi ® Premium spa is designed to automatically pro- tect itself against freezing when operating properly. I During periods of severe freezing temperatures, you should check periodically to be certain that the electrical supply to the spa has not been interrupted. I Under very cold conditions check that the filtration cycle is pro- If you want to start up your spa after it has sat empty for a time in freezing temperatures, check whether the water remaining in certain sections of the piping is still frozen: this situation may block water flow preventing the spa from operating properly and possibly damaging the equipment. Under these circumstances we recommend contacting your reseller prior to attempting to restart the spa. grammed for 24 hours ("Primary filtration cycle" chapter) and that the automatic heating mode is active ("Water recycling" - "Automatic cycle" chapters). I During the periods of non-use and/or prolonged interruption Water quality maintenance Maintaining the quality of the water within specified limits will serve to enhance your enjoyment and prolong the life of the system. It is a fairly simple task, but it requires regular attention because the water chemistry involved is a balance of several factors. A careless attitude in regard to water maintenance will result in poor and potentially unhealthful conditions for soaking and may even damage your spa. For specific guidance on maintaining water quality, consult your dealer who can recommend appropriate chemical products for sanitizing and maintaining your spa. CAUTION: Never store spa chemicals in the compartments for chemcials which are located under the spa. pH Control pH is a measure of relative acidity or alkalinity of water and is measured on a scale of 0 to 14. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO MAINTAIN A SLIGHTLY ALKALINE CONDITION OF 7. 4 to 7. 6. A high pH will cause minerals to deposit on the interior surface (scaling); in addition, the ability of the sanitation agents to keep the spa clean is severely affected as the pH moves beyond the ideal range. of electric power during periods with very low temperatures it is important that all of the water is removed from the spa and protect against damages that freezing may cause. In emergency situations, damage can be minimized by taking the following steps: - Disconnect the spa from the electric mains. - Position the massage switch in position A (combo). B C A - Open the valve of the cascade with the correct knob. - Follow the directions for draining the spa. Use a vacuum or other means to keep the water from flooding the equipment compartment. Sanitizing To destroy bacteria and organic compounds in the water, use a sanitation product regularly, available from your dealer. CAUTION: Do not use chlorine tablets (Trichlor) in your spa: this chemical can have an extremely corrosive effect on certain materials in the spa. Damage caused by use of this chemical, or improper use of any chemicals, is not covered under the spa's warranty. 58 Ozonator (optional) If you have elected to have your spa equipped with the ozone system, you will find that your water stays fresh and clear with significantly less chemical sanitizer usage. Note: always close the cascade when the spa is not being used so that the water flow is increased and the ozone is thereby enriched. The ozonizer operates with the recirculation and switches off when the hydromassage pump is activated; 5 minutes after this is switched off the recirculation pump and ozonizer are reactivated. N. B. : This error commonly occurs when the spa is first filled because tap water is often very cold. "EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN" I The water temperature exceeds the limit values. Do not step into the spa as the water could be too hot. I Contact your reseller or an authorised assistance centre. "OPEN SENSOR" The temperature sensor is broken (the heater is deactivated). I Contact your reseller or an authorised assistance centre. Troubleshooting Display Messages There are a number of unique functions designed into your Jacuzzi® Premium spa to protect it from damage and/or to aid in troubleshooting, which are signalled by messages on the display: "OVERHEAT PROTECTION" Overheat Protection (Heater is deactivated, circulation pump is activated). I This must be repaired only by a qualified service organization. - Remove the spa's cover and allow your spa to cool down. "WATER IS BELOW SET-TEMP" If the spa water temperature is 6°C lower than the set temperature the recirculation pump and heater are automatically activated to guarantee the anti-freezing protection. The spa remains in this mode until the water temperature is 9°C lower than the set temperature. "COMMUNICATION ERROR" The communication between the control panel and the electric box is defective. "PUMP DOES NOT OPERATE" Heater is deactivated; recirculation pump may also be deactivate. [. . . ] 4-8 Ohms US B Note: after zeroing, you must once again memorize the radio stations and other custom parameters. Fogged optical components inside the unit will return to normal operation after an hour in a heated environment. 66 J-1000 REMOTE CONTROL Most parts of the functions can be managed through this remote control whose main characteristics are: - when turning on, the remote control will check the correct communication with the spa control unit; a control procedure that individuates the various active functions (that are indicated on the remote control display itself) will start. - if the remote control remains unused for a period of approximately 15 seconds it will be turned off automatically; press any button to reactivate the remote control (the display and the keypad will light up). Note: the remote control is water resistant (but not water tight); store in a dry place when not in use . [. . . ]
