We have every expectation that you will be completely satisfied with your new purchase. To always guarantee optimal function and performance of your product, we would ask the following: Before using the product for the first time, carefully read the operating instructions and adhere to the safety precautions. All activities at and with this product may only be carried out as described in these operating instructions. [. . . ] When creating a pedestrian route, the GPS avoids highways or other roads where pedestrians would not travel. Voice prompts are deactivated in this mode. 4. 7 Create Detour 4. 7. 1 Create Detour Menu Button From the Route menu, tap the Create Detour button to display the Detour screen. Figure 59 ­Create Detour Button 33 4. 7. 2 Create Detour Screen The Detour screen lets you select a detour distance to instruct the GPS to calculate an alternate route to avoid a road event, such as an accident. This detour will affect only the current route and once the route is completed or cancelled, the detour will no longer be in effect. Figure 60 ­Detour Screen You can choose the length of the requested detour which may be one of the following options: 200 Meters (0. 2 miles) 500 Meters (0. 5 miles) 1 Kilometer (1 mile) 3 Kilometer (3 miles) 5 Settings 5. 1 Settings Menu Button From the Main menu, tap the Settings button to display the Settings 1 of 3 menu. Lets you here a click when tapping a button or a point on the map. 36 5. 8 Units of Measure You can define the units of measure to be used during navigation. 5. 8. 1 Units of Measure Menu Button From the Settings 2 of 3 menu, tap the Units of Measure button to display the Units of Measure screen. Figure 65 ­ Units of Measure Button 5. 8. 2 Units of Measure Screen Figure 66 ­ Units of Measure Screen This screen lets you select from the following list of units of measure options: Miles, Yards (UK) Miles, 10th of a Mile (US) Kilometers, Meters Tap OK to save the selected units of measure. Tap the Back button to return to the Settings menu. 5. 9 Language You can select the language to use for display and voice. 5. 9. 1 Language Menu Button From the Settings 2 of 3 menu, tap the Language button to display the Language screen. Figure 67 ­ Language Button 37 5. 9. 2 Language Screen This screen lets you set the language for the the GPS map and screen text, and voice language for prompts and next turn information. Figure 68 ­ Language Screen The list of supported languages can be downloaded from Tobe Dock or can be automatically installed, depending on the the software build. Tap the Back button to return to the Settings menu without saving your settings. 5. 10 Time Settings You can select the time zone to use and whether to automatically adjust for Daylight Savings Time. The correct time settings are taken from the GPS signal. 5. 10. 1 Time Setting Menu Button From the Settings 2 of 3 menu, tap the Time Settings button to display the Time Settings screen. Figure 69 ­ Time Settings Button 38 5. 10. 2 Time Settings Screen From this screen, you can adjust the time zone and instruct the GPS to adjust time for daylight savings. Figure 70 ­ Time Zone Settings 5. 11 QuickNav The QuickNav module is a handy shortcut that allows you to set a route to a predefined location or point of interest in a single button tap. For example, you can set the button to his home or hotel, or to the nearest gas station. 5. 11. 1 QuickNav Menu Button From the Settings 2 of 3 menu, tap the QuickNav button to display the QuickNav screen. Figure 71 ­ QuickNav Button 5. 11. 2 QuickNav Settings Screen The QuickNav Settings screen lets you set a target location for the QuickNav button. Figure 72 ­ QuickNav Screen 39 The location can be either a predefined single address, or a point of interest category. Selecting the GO To Predefined Address radio button enables the Set Address button. Tapping the Set Address button opens the Enter Address screen of the address module, and lets you select a destination address. Selecting the GO To Nearest POI in Category radio button enables the Set POI Category button. Tapping the Set POI Category button opens the POI Categories screen from the Points of Interest module to let you specify a POI category. Tap the Back button to return to the Settings menu. 5. 11. 3 QuickNav Button on Main Map When you tap the QuickNav button on the Map screen for the first time, the GPS opens the QuickNav Settings screen. After you have selected a QuickNav location, you can automatically start a route to that location by tapping this button. 5. 12 Look & Feel This feature lets you select the background screen color and type of keyboard. 5. 12. 1 Look & Feel Menu Button From the Settings 2 of 3 menu, tap the Look & Feel button to display the Look & Feel screen. For more information, see Section 3. 8 Select Map Screen on page 27. 5. 14 Start Demo From the Settings 3 of 3 menu, tap the Start Demo button to display the Map screen running the simulated route. While the demo is running, all other GPS features are disabled. 5. 15 GPS Signal This feature displays GPS Signal information. 41 5. 15. 1. 1 GPS Signal Button From the Settings 3 of 3 menu, tap the GPS Signal button to display the GPS Signal screen.
