FOREWORD Thank you for purchasing this Icom product. The IC-V8000 VHF FM TRANSCEIVER is designed and built with Icom's superior technology and craftsmanship. With proper care, this product should provide you with years of trouble-free operation. This operation must be performed within 1. 5 sec. · When clearing the call channel, the current VFO conditions are re-programmed into the call channel automatically. e Rotate the tuning dial to select the memory channel to be cleared. · Memory channels not yet programmed are blank. t Push any switch, except [MW(S. MW . 29 MEMORY OPERATION 5 I Programming channel names Each memory channel and the call channel can be programmed with an alphanumeric channel name for easy recognition and can be indicated independently by channel. Names can be a maximum of 6 characters-- see the table below for available characters. MW)] to move the cursor to left or right, respectively. i Push [V/MHz(SCAN)] to program the name and exit the channel name programming condition. to return to frequency indication if desired. 5 q Push [M/CALL(PRIO)] to select memory mode. to select channel name indication mode. · 1 short and 1 long beep sound. IMPORTANT!: Once channel name indication mode is selected, always access the channel name programming condition when [SET(LOCK)] is pushed. When set mode accessing is necessary, cancel the channel name indication by pushing [MONI(ANM)] for 1 sec. , then access to set mode. SET Push LOCK or the cursor. MW S.
